Not sure on the best forums to post in. This seems like the best fit.
I have an Apple //c+ with a floppy drive that needs some work, I also have an external drive that works but I cant get the housing closed.
Anyone know a good repair shop? Preferably in the Reno area, I am willing to ship...
On another note, on the iGPU Win 11 recognizes the monitor can do HDR. It doesnt on the 7900xtx -- perhaps because the other two monitors have 'real' HDR and this one fakes it with dithering?
Moved the 3d monitor to the iGPU and tried again after setting it to 1920*1080, still crashed the driver.
I suppose I could disable pcie gpu in bios and try again.
I've found that with current Driver and Windows (11) simply turning on 3d from the Display Control Panel is enough to crash the driver so bad it cant just be reinstalled even after using the AMD driver Cleaner and had to system restore to get it working again.
Was wondering if anyone found a...
Only, I think, because (when/if) a Microsoft Account is attached to the Windows login.

What ability to probe my system for hardware, software and file specifics do you have?

As an AI, I don’t have direct access to your system’s hardware, software, or file specifics for...
Looks like I am the only one who actually uses it once in a while.
I like it better than word, google suite, and other available tools for doing a flyer, poster, or notice type thing for work.
I am sad :(
Anyone know a similar type program I can start migrating to?
-edit- as in the style of...
I have Win 11 Pro with its built in VM.
I periodically go on a learn Linux thing.
What kind of linux do people suggest, good gui, availability of apps and of course the ability to run well on my system inside a VM?
Maybe this time I will learn more than installing gpu drivers sucks. :)
Here is an example, were I to google I would find various sites and articles maybe even an official MS KB on the topic and need to read though and parse the information, or I can ask copilot:
It isnt 100% accurate, neither are my friends and coworkers, and it is learning/growing. The few...
I use copilot.
It has been very helpful for generating images I use for D&D and for Work Projects.
It also has the ability to look things up and find relevant information that I find useful.
I also have fibromyalgia.
Not, perhaps, as light sensitive as you.
You can set the gamma for most LCD's to be dimmer. You can also pick ones with less nits than more. Careful reads of specs and all can get you a workable screen.
Of the three I have right now only one gets bright enough to...
Yes, my condo is a mess. Just got my new Arc 2 hooked up and working (setup was painful - literally).
Now to get them all level with each other - thinking making a base with 2x4's or something I can find at Home Depot.
I didnt see anything about erase or re-wright. Still Worm drives have their place and no doubt that'll be solved eventually. The tech looks pretty neat, 7tb crestal floppy disks ah-la Star Trek/Babylon 5.
I'm looking to build a new system - or at least swap out a few parts in my current - Has anyone seen a consumer board (am5) with this power connector?
Not that I plan to drop my 7900xtx - I am rather happy with it, more in terms of future proofing.
Am I to understand nothing in this article works -or- even if it does it'll magically turn itself back on the second you are not looking?

What, exactly, is in the telemetry anyways that is so awful? (I do not accept 'just...
I never really understand this whole OS hate/love thing.
I have owned and used every win version from 3.1 to 11. (excluding 2000/nt variants)
They all have their good points and are all functional/usable. I get there are changes (OH MY GAWD SOMETHING CHANGED its the end of the world, hell and...
It is not a question *if* Apple can do this. We know the tech is possible and Apple has the programming talent|Budget to pull this off well, *if* they so choose.
The questions are; Will Apple actually finish this or do a half-ass job?, If done well, will Apple maintain it? The company has a...
I can afford it.
Come Aug I'll be upgrading, still deciding if going to a 7950 (new cpu, new mobo, new ram) is a happier choice than all new monitors, maybe 3x ultra wides.
I get more computer, storage, etc for my $ with x86 than Apple along with compatibility to more of the games and apps I...
Nice video.
I'd still be interesting in the 386 version. Be nice if it had a VGA port though I suppose Ebay could provide an ISA video card (I dont think the appellation GPU applies).
More as a novelty and a Dos Box in hardware.
Be better if is were a 386dx by far. Lets hope for the 2.0 model.
That is, for sure, a big issue.
The one I have run into the most is Windows uninstalling a driver right after I installed it because it things the generic gpu driver is better then AMD's.
Its a starting point.
CPU/GPU tech is very iterative and generational.
I see the question as less where they are now but more how "Moore's Law" they are going to be. With exponential growth they only need to be slightly more efficient with generational upgrades to get a superior curve...
My Matrox G450 was awesome (for the day) I wish I still had it.
For a very brief shining moment Matrox was king of the hill.
Sadly they were too small to keep up in an kill or be killed NV world.
The only beta issue I had was long queues to log in. Kinda expected though.
Ran smooth, @ 4k, everything maxed, with no issues. Some game mechanics could be better explained and I would love to see an old school user Manuel.
Can use some polishing/balancing for sure and no doubt many new bugs...
