Which smart TV can't handle DLNA streaming directly from the NAS? Not arguing with you, just want to put them on the list to avoid should I ever be looking to upgrade.
I've had 2 Samsung TVs in the past that worked well with this with their built in software alone, and my current Sony 65" from...
You got most of this correct. First, a minor nit pick - CRI actually stands for Color Rendering Index. And to clarify for everyone else, this is referring to the quality of white light.
Second, While your premise is generally correct, CRI is actually a horrible metric to use for color...
I've had the Ally for about 3 weeks now, and I'm pretty happy with it. Yeah, the battery life isn't that great, but hasn't been a wall that i've run into yet. Pretty much every plane has power in the seat, and when I'm home my attention span for gaming usually tops out at about an hour anyway...
Oh I did too, even bought the remastered version when it came out last year. I was only responding in the context of the dumbing down for consoles statement.
My only disappointment with Crysis 2 & 3 was how less open world they were, but it was understandable given the location in which the...
Good price. It's gotten as low as $299 in the past from Amazon. If you don't need a drive right now, can't hurt to wait and see if it will go that low again. Amazon likes to use dynamic pricing, so YMMV.
Last best price I think was $365.

Edit: Was $299, price is $377 now.
Good ol' dynamic pricing.
Thanks! I bit, finally! Between the price after rebate and the free games (2 of which i actually was going to buy come fall/winter anyway), this is a smoking deal.
While I'm in this camp, I'm happy with getting the RX 6900XT level of performance for around $700. Even if the rumor of the...
I've been trying to figure out this very thing now that prices are inching down. Been wanting a 3080 for a while (though if the 6800XT gets to MSRP first I'd get that instead). Considering the founders edition MSRP for the 10GB was $700, I'm struggling with figuring out how much 2GB of memory...
I noticed that too. I have a 2080 super. I don't need a 6900 XT, but I certainly wouldn't mind an upgrade. It's a little difficult to justify spending the $1k+ with RDNA 3 practically around the corner.
Edit: I was origionally hoping for a 6800 XT, that would be a worthy upgrade @ $650...
Fantastic! I was a huge fan of the Crysis games, and have probably played through the first one 20 to 30 times, and at least a dozen times for Crysis 2 and 3. Can't wait.
What's funny and ironic about this statement is that way back in 2007 (I think) when AMD acquired ATI, Kyle wrote an editorial saying that it was going to be Nvidia in a difficult position. IIRC, he suggested that perhaps Intel might buy Nvidia?
Talk about a 180 in change of fortunes.
Hey guys,
Been looking at this case to build an 8 disk NAS: https://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Technology-CS380B-Storage-Cases/dp/B01MA6NJE8
I'm sure this is an easy question, but what's with 16 sata ports for 8 drives? Searching for "double sata ports" has not been helpful. There's a good...
Oh you should see the nonsense that goes on in the soapbox with these trolls. Where somehow the Left which is supposedly sooo stooopid, and yet are simultaneously super secret masterminds of a vast coast to coast conspiracy network for Covid.
The funny thing is the other thing they scream...
Did you even read that article before you posted it? LOLOL. Thank you for so eloquently destroying your case.
Then entire premise of the article is that there are excess deaths IN ADDITION TO the confirmed covid deaths. The reason for this is there are deaths that are possibly covid positive...
You've been so caught up on the Moire issue, that you haven't even addressed the rest of the issue of capturing LED wall images on camera, some of which I brought up earlier. Since you're apparently a TV/Film production expert after reading 2 articles, perhaps you could address these questions...
The Moiré is the reason why you have to replace the background digitally. Thus why you can use an LED screen for lighting and actor interaction, you still need to fix it in post.
To be honest, the screen isn't the real story anyway. The real story is how computing performance and game engine...
LOL, you still don't understand what you're reading. What do you supposed the term "COMPOSITING" means?
It means that it's taking the lighting on the actors and set pieces from the renderings shown on the LED screen, and combining it with the digital renders in real time. Watch your youtube...
Hate to break this to you, but you're the one that needs to read more and watch the videos again, because you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about here. The lighting was the only element captured in real time, not the visuals as a whole.
There were 2 goals of the LED panels: 1) to...
What kind of nonsense is this?
Most employees in the private sector are covered by the NLRB, which gives employees the right to unionize. https://www.nlrb.gov/rights-we-protect/rights/employee-rights
Employees have a lot more rights than the 3 you listed, or did you forget about the right to...
I just joined the club, got my 2080 Strix O8G this morning. Found one $100 cheaper than the newer Super version, and with this OC, should be within 2-3%. Coming from a 980ti, so far I'm pretty happy.
Honestly if it wasn't for DOOM Eternal coming out in November, I probably would have just...
FWIW, I just pulled the trigger on a 2080 non super. The prices on the super cards are still at a premium, and the non super cards can be found with nice price cuts. I grabbed the ASUS ROG STRIX that has a higher boost clock than the FE cards, which should put it within 2-3% of the super, at a...
Good, lets hope there's performance there to justify pricing. After getting the finger from NVIDIA on pricing with the RTX launch, I'm liking how things are shaping up with price reductions and performance increases. Time to upgrade the ol' 980TI :)
That's what I'm banking on. Even if Nvidia released a RTX 2080ti that was 15% better for the same price, I can't see my self spending $1k+ for a video card.
