$450 Core 2 Quad Next Year?

[H] reader Ed Cabarles let us know that the Chinese website HKEPC is claiming that Intel will launch the Core 2 Quad in the $500 range (http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MjMxMDAsLCxobmV3cywsLDE=) in the third quarter of next year.

Since according to our report on the upcoming Intel’s price slash, Core 2 Quad Q6600 will have a new price at $531 (previously $851), Core 2 Quad Q6400 is most likely has a price lower than $450 when it is released into market in Q3 2007, implying Quad Core is no longer be high end only.

i think the pricing and models are confused, i think they are quoting pricing for the newer Core 2 Duo's, not the Quad Core parts

I read that the Q6600 will be available in Q1 2007 and since that is when I am building my new PC that is the CPU I will get. Unless the Q6700 is less than $650.00 by then, and I really don't think that will happen.

eva2000 has overclocked the Q6600 to 3.6Ghz pretty easily on a P5B deluxe. That sounds awesome!
