A band of thieves in Santa Clara California got away with 100,000 microchips (http://www.hardocp.com/news.html?news=MjMxNDUsLCxobmV3cywsLDE=) using a staged accident to gain control of a delivery van. The load was said to be worth almost two hundred thousand dollars. There is a license plate number and vehicle description at the bottom of the article.
The victim had just picked up about 100,000 microchips from a Santa Clara warehouse for his employer in Fremont when a white van rear-ended his silver Mazda MPV about 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Santa Clara police Detective David Tanquary.

People seem to be stealing more electronics than they used to. Microchips, PS3s, Xbox 360s.
Whatever happened to the good old days when people just ripped down road signs and sold
them for scrap?

It probably was an inside job. They will probably be stupid and start selling them on e-bay or here in the Forums... lol! keep your eyes open...
nah.. if they got the license plate and all, unless these thieves were incredibly intelligent, they will probably get nabbed sooner or later.
