I just noticed it includes overnight shipping for $5. That makes it a woot deal.

Wonder why this is a woot, I see them everywhere. Targets, Walmart, Gamestop, etc for not that much more...

At this point in the game, most people are not going to get the huge payday they think they are buy selling off a PS3. That day has some and gone.

Take a look at craigslist, you are already seeing people sell them for 100 to 150 dollars over 499 and 599. Take tax into account and most are ending up with maybe a $100 dollar wind fall.

$499 @ Walmart = $531.44 in my town.
Woot is $504, shipped, fedex next day.

Shit, I think most people would be happy with $100 profit now. PS3s are going for retail on the forum here and I don't think there's much interest.

I don't think there's much interest.

You got that right. I went to wallyworld the other day and they had 6 PS3s sitting there. Mind you this is right before christmas. They should fly off the shelves like nothing else. I asked if they had a Wii and the dude only said:

"come back next year, the wii's are flying off the shelves". He then started to offer me some info on the PS3 and i asked why they'd have 6 of them just sitting there and he simply said "to be honest, i think they're too expensive. Not many people buy them".

That said more than a any analyst could've said to me in a thousand words.

27.44 is not that much of a savings, especially that is if UPS/FedEx does not lose your package or give the package a good ole beating in honor of the holidays....

I had a friend posted on Ebay, no bids, pulled it off and returned it unopened for store refund. His Mrs had bought for him, and he was like "why?"

I love the item description.

In fact, we love the Wii so much, we want to give a Wii to everybody on our payroll. To fund this Wii-for-the-People program, we're selling this Sony PlayStation 3. The SIXAXIS wireless controller is basically the same complicated gazillion-button-style controller you know from past PS models, but at least you won’t be fighting Grandma for gaming time. Along with the usual roster of ho-hum games, the PS3 can play CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Ray discs, and the 20GB hard drive can store music, videos, and music videos. It’s certainly, er, rather full-figured, for those of you who want a lot of heft for your money. And its HDMI capabilities give you polygons and frames-per-second out the wazoo, if you prefer that stuff to having fun.

Best of all, for every PS3 you buy, we can buy Wiis for two of our employees. So when you get frustrated by those intricate combo-button moves, or bored by the underwhelming game offerings for the PS3, keep the spirit of the season in mind. Remember all those happy Woot staffers whose lives have been changed by their super-fun Nintendo Wiis, paid for by you. Heartwarming, isn’t it?

I had gotten word that the Walmart here was getting a shipment of Wiis in. By the time I got there they were gone. Lady said they sold out as soon as they hit the shelf. She said they had plenty of PS3s if I knew someone who wanted one. :(

Again 27.44 is not a lot, but then again I earn a fairly large amount of change. Plus I can use that 27.44 to tip my sushi chef...
