Maybe the thread starters should've credited his source.

I have the 2405FPW monitor (this 2407's predecessor) and I love it! What a great price compared to what I paid for mine. : \

wow so you pay more than double the price for a slightly higher resolution.

lol my laptop can do 1920x1200.

Y are the 24" screens so much more expensive than the 22".

Because most of the 24" LCDs use a better panel and usually have a variety of inputs.

22" screens, for the most part, are garbage...

but then again most people don't use all those inputs and as long as the 22inch isn't absolute crap model won't really know the difference besides maybe a little brightness and color saturation.

i would buy a 30 inch LCD if it only cost 800 bucks and had 0 other inputs then the dual link DVI.

JUMP ON THIS!

I got my 2407 last August for almost $700, and I feel its worth every penny. There is nothing like having 2 firefox windows up and your aim/ or sidebar all at the same time. I got mine for uh college productivity, and a little 1920x1200 gaming fix! :)

BUY IT!

As you said, it's a non-issue unworthy of the annoying rolleyes emoticon. HardOCP, slickdeals, and fatwallet tend to cross-reference deals more often than not when it comes to tech.

Is someone going to spam that rolleyes every time a deal is on both sites now? Could get busy busy!

you'd be surprised on how much more clear any ultrasharp is than almost any other monitor.

i've seen TONS and TONS of LCDs... none of them can touch the clarity of my 2405fpw or my 2005fpw on my other pc...

though, the prices for 22" being <$300 is definitely awesome!! :)

when it comes to ultrasharp, you get what you pay for...

I found a great review on AnandTech.com (http://www.anandtech.com/displays/showdoc.aspx?i=2940) for both this Dell 2407WFP monitor and the 30" version (3007WFP).

I wonder if an SD card plugged into the memory card reader will be recognized as flash memory capable of readyboost in Vista. My guess is no but it sure would be slick.

I had decided to purchase this monitor, but found out that my dell catalog did not have a coupon code on it...

Begging sucks, but I don't know what better to do. Is there anyone here that will not be using their coupon? If anyone could hook me up with one, I would be very thankful!

Does anyone have a coupon??

cowwithoutbrain
03-20-2007, 10:45 PM
Well, it probably won't help for this deal, but here is the link to sign up for the catalog: https://membership.dell.com/myaccount/subscription/SubRequestCatalog.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

It says "You should receive a catalog within the next 3 weeks", but that will likely be too late, plus it will probably be next months catalog. Even if it was the March one, it wouldn't surprise me if the online deal is over... :(

I saw a post on slickdeals saying that it is supposed to be on the front cover, on the bottom left. If its not there, and you have the catalog with the xps laptop on the cover, then you are stuck hoping for a key like some of us... :(

I just bought a code for $1 on eBay and it said the max discount was already applied (the already 10% off before the coupon) was that a bogus coupon code or did I go and do something wrong, If anyone has a good coupon code It would do me good.

anyone have any luck with the ebay coupons?

cowwithoutbrain
03-25-2007, 11:59 PM
I wasn't willing to try an ebay coupon, but I did give Dell a call. I said how I received the catalog without a coupon, and wondered if they could send me a coupon to use instead. They said they couldn't generate one, but they wanted my business again, so they offered a $50 coupon, and said they would email it to me. It turns out they haven't yet, even though they I spoke with them a second time and it still hasn't happened.

As I probably won't have it by tomorrow, I will likely call up one of their sales representatives and see if he can give me a better deal, as they have been so poor at getting back to me.

If you try calling them, you may be able to get a discount out of them (even if it isn't quite the extra 10%), though you may need to be in their system already as a customer.

anyone have any luck with the ebay coupons?

I did, did not work, the dell duder on the phone said the coupon doesn't stack an because there is already more then 10% off from dell that makes the coupons worthless.
