I know why they give 5 GB for free... It's a pain in the ass to register. It wouldn't accept my AIM login so I had to make a new account... Which took about 10 minutes of retrying.

Click on the option to log in with AIM s/n. Put in a your real first, fake last (but realistic), and a realistic road. They check for obvious fake names/roads apparently (it failed me, but then passed me when I used my old address). Seems this is available to anyone with AIM.

My father-in-law had to hock X-Drive for a company in Alabama that he worked for. In our experience it sucks. They tried to sell the University of Alabama on it for students and UA took one look at it and walked away.

IMHO, getting a GMail account and then using GMailDrive is a much easier and elegant solution if you need that kind of "universal" storage.
