Regular $499, $200 taken off at checkout as a "volume discount". LOL. Also good in-store.

We've had one of these here in the office for about 10 months now, no problems. Prints look good.

I went and picked up the one I put on hold back on Monday. I like it so far. The built-in networking is really nice.

Thanks. I bit on one, CNET had a decent review of it, and this printer has Windows XP 64bit drivers where my old Canon inkjet does not.

I found a useful tip last night. Configure the printer for "Override Out" to print until your toner is actually empty. The problem is the printer doesn't detect the toner levels, it assumes 5% coverage and counts the number of printed pages. You may still have toner left after the 2500/2000 page count - and who wants to waste toner?

1. From the main menu, press (RIGHT ARROW) to System setup and press (SELECT).
2. Press (RIGHT ARROW) to Print quality and press (SELECT).
3. Press (RIGHT ARROW) to Replace supplies and press (SELECT).
4. Press (RIGHT ARROW) to Override out and press (SELECT).
5. Press (SELECT).
If Stop at out is selected, the printer will stop printing when a cartridge reaches the
recommended replacement point. If Override out is selected, the printer will continue
printing when a cartridge reaches the recommended replacement point. The factory default
setting is Stop at out.

Good find bassman, that is a good feature to know about. I'll set mine up that way when it gets here so as not to waste good toner.

Thanks Bassman for the great deal and toner maximizing tips. Just got one. The cartridges alone cost close to the base price.

Well, Its all hooked up using a cheepo dlink pocket wireless AP/Client that had been sitting around doing nothing for ages, so I'm glad I got some use out of it. The quality seems great, the duplexing is nice, and it feels good to print a full size picture without the paper feeling soggy (using regular paper, not photopaper).

I've been testing it out by making a few color and b/w prints tonight. The quality is great. I'm happy to finally have laser again after so many years of inkjet text.
I found a thread on fatwallet that might make this deal even hotter: 110% pricematch at Staples + coupon. Too bad I didn't find that earlier and too bad I don't have a Staples HP coupon.
