OP, you might want to change the + in front of the MIR's and the promo codes to a -, the + makes it sound like a price increase of some sort... :D

I also have a 3200+ Venice, but my next upgrade will be for dual core. Last week, they had the X2 3800+ Venice on sale for $80 (after $10 coupon code). But I'm holding out for a good price on the X2 4200+, which as of last week was $135 (I haven't checked yet this week). These are all Socket 939 CPUs.

I got all excited when I read the first line that the 500GB Seagate 7200.10 HD was on sale, then I saw that the price isn't any less than it has been all week. I'd buy two at $120, but $130 is still a bit high for me.

So I try to buy a cpu and some RAM from newegg, using one of the promo codes listed above. It tells me I have to sign up for the newegg newsletter to actually be able to use the promo codes.

Ok, I sign up. Oops, it still won't accept the promo code, it keeps telling me I have to sign up, even though I already have, repeatedly.

So I guess I won't spend $300 at your store, instead I'll wait around and see if eventually I can get the promo code accepted. Way to make a sale, guys!

I may be being a bit cynical here though, assuming there is some incompetence going on. Perhaps the actual purpose of Newegg is not to sell hardware, but instead to get people to sign up for their newsletter. In that case, mission accomplished.

I had the same problem ordering a hard drive, but if you place the order and then contact customer service with it and tell them about your problems, they will usually credit the coupon to the order. Newegg customer service is top notch, I order from them just because of the web-based chat. I've ordered from ZZF as well, and they have neither the chat support, nor a toll-free number to call, so it really makes it a pain.

I noticed the same thing when I tried to enter a code for the S939 X2 3800+ CPU last week. I signed up for the e-newsletter like 4 times and it still didn't work. Then I read somewhere on this forum that it takes a few days (maybe even a week?) for Newegg's system to register. I later tried to apply the code and it worked. But I changed my mind and didn't order that CPU.

I agree it's not good that Newegg's system takes so long to allow the code to work after it knows you signed up for their e-newsletter via the e-mail confirmation. Heck, they don't even mention in the coupon code's error message that it might take a while for the subscription to register. Hopefully they know about it and will address it.

Samsung 500GB HD's are $120 shipped on Newegg as of 30 minutes ago. Not sure if I want one of those or a 500GB external for $142 shipped. Ah decisions.

The AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Toledo 2.2GHz CPU (OEM) is now $122.50 shipped. Is that an all-time low for this chip?

If WD had a global warranty policy I'd buy about four more of them 5000YS.
