Vista's WLAN Autoconfig = Game Lag

Hello everyone. I've been searching for a solution for a while now, but haven't made much progress. As most of you know, Vista's WLAN Autoconfig is pretty much the same as Wireless Zero Configuration in XP. The problem with WZC is that it polls the network at intervals, which brings a large amount of lag to games for a couple seconds.

In XP, all you had to do was disable WCZ, and use the manufacturer's software to connect to the AP. However, that's not the case for Vista, as manufacturers still haven't released a Vista version (At least for Belkin) and disabling WLAN Autoconfig kills the network connection.

Are there any 3rd party software out there that'll allow you to connect to an AP with Window's WLAN AC disabled or a solution to prevent Vista from polling the network? Or am I screwed till the manufacturer releases their own?
If there's a manufacturer whose 3rd party software works in Vista, let me know [and will a different vendor's usb wifi card work with a Belkin router?]

*EDIT*
Finally found a solution. Scroll down to see it!

Dont know of any apps but a Belkin router will work will other vendors cards.

I used to have a link for such an app, but it's broken now. :(

Finally figured out how to fix the lag!
I tested in a round of BF2142, and I didn't have a single lag spike.

I'll post instructions in case someone happens to have the same problem.

All information came from this post:

WLAN Optimizer prevents WCZ [Vista only] from queuing for a network, thereby lagging it.

For me, I installed it, and didn't see it change like the picture, so I restarted, exited outta the program, and reopened it. Viola!

You may or may not have to install the XP drivers, but I did regardless (since it allows more access to controls on the wireless usb).
