Wait. It came with a heatsink?
No. I have a retail heatsink from my other Q6600.

I'm the only one? Bummer. I guess its nice living 60 miles from TigerDirect and 45 miles from Frys. :)
Also, for anyone that might consider returning their CPU... There are no returns accepted on CPUs at all. Only on defective ones, which are replaced for identical items. Can't even get a 15% restocking fee.

Looks like nice deals, but seems like we should still wait for the July 22nd price cut when the Q6600 drops to about $266, then you pick any board you want and still have a better deal. :)

Why not if I may ask?
XFX 680LT is $140 at Newegg right now. That means you're paying $360 for an OEM cpu which carries no warrenty.
That doesn't sound too hot to me.
P.S.
I am still waiting for the pix Rob. ;)

Ewww.. thanks for fixing my oversite. Nice of them to take an almost identically labled motherboard and sell it at the exact same price. Sorry Tigger, but that's a little to shadie even for an online seller. Thanks again for noticing and hopefully you stopped others from following my link and falling for their tactics.

Posting on mine now as well.
Couple things:
My CPU arrived open. The "seal" was already broken on the OEM packaging. I'll post pics of this later.
The motherboard is great, but if I were writing a review I'd have to take points off for placement of certain items. (Ever try to plug something into an SATA port when the port is sideways?)
Now to run a few benchmarks that matter to me (Counter Strike Source baby!)
Edit: On the CSS stress test, fps jumped from 156 to 239.

Dude that's insane! Nice :)
Today I have XP 64bit installing while I'm at work. I'll get around to reinstalling everything and OCing later.
Did you find any particular difficult areas of your re-build?
annaconda
06-27-2007, 09:56 AM
Well the only difficulty i had was to adjust my water cooling tubbings to this setup. I was running same setup passive execpt video card + gpu water block in the loop, which i added with this setup.
Right now i see temperatures:
Idle = 29C (Fresh START)
Idle after 15 minutes = 31C
Load after 3 hours = 40C
