I might get one for my family so we can use Skype to talk to each other overseas.

I use Web Cam Live, and it has 640x480 res for video, and use it for skype with my GF.
The webcam on bargain has way low res for both photo and video, so I'd rather not jump onto unless you will be alright with blurry image while you are on skype with your friend and family.
I'd recommend 640x480 or upper res for satisfying video conferencing experience.
