Tempting deal but I hate MIR's.

If you have Vista x64, 4GB of RAM, an 8800, etc, then avoid this. Good deal if you don't have any of those items already.

I have 4 gigs, vista 64bit and it works great.

whats wrong with this card? I would hate to buy a new card and have to go back to my DFI experts onboard sound.

Nothing is wrong with the card (as far as I know). They are great, but their Vista support is shameful, they cause BSOD's with many different configs, and with 4GB of RAM or the wrong PCI slot they'll make the whole system unstable.

Sounds like a software / firmware issue that might be fixed by the time I migrate to vista?

Last I heard, you can download the Vista driver CD off of Logitech's site. It's the same driver package as XP.

I had a Xfi Xtreme Audio before this because my original audigy crapped out. Getting this card gave me a 25-50% boost in framerates in games that were using EAX/Direct Sound 3d. Whoever it was that made that software xfi should be shot in the face.

I think it was the same people who made the Geforce 4 mx.

i bought one of these in july, with some similar rebate directly from Creative for $40.
I just received my rebate two weeks ago.
So i can confirm, that my rebate ( from Creative) did arrive.

Also I am from Canada, and they sent the rebate in US funds.

So far i have not had any issues with this card.
The Xram is a joke though.. no diffefence noticed, even in supported games like BF2.

I really didnt notice any overall sound improvement in comparison to my old Audigy 2ZS with 7.1 surround, so if you have one of these old audigy cards dont bother upgrading.

The not so smart ones in this thread are those saying these cards have problems with certain configs of Vista, 2gb or 4gb of RAM, etc.

The XFI cards have driver problems with almost ALL configs including under XP and it is creative's problem with crappy drivers.

I own an XFI though and love it, the only issue I have is that it crackles during explosions in BF2142 (known problem). By switching around the slot and not using it on a nforce chipset board I have had no other issues with it.

O, and I also use the basic driver pack from creative's site, do NOT touch the drivers on the install CD...they are HORRIBLE.

The XFI is amazing for games that support it. Games like BF2 and BF2142 sound amazing when you turn on the XFI hardware features (only available on XFI cards).
