Not too bad at all. Employee Purchase price is 1102.22 for that same config, so you can't complain at all about getting withing a few bucks of that.

And no, you can't use the coupon with the EPP program, I tried. :)

JBark, I tried using CPP and applied the coupon. It stacked and cut down the price even further. It works! If you want to know the CPP number, PM me.

Not bad, you can also use www.fatwallet.com cash back to save a few more % at the Lenovo online store.

Just note that it takes a few months to get it back, but I saved an extra $140 or so by using cash back

Here is what I don't understand. Are you guys paying for the name or the supposed build quality? A better speced hp 12.1" tablet is about $400 cheaper. I got a little excited after seeing the $830 price but the specs are horrid. Basic? 1gb? 80gb HD? WOW.

HP TX1320US - I don't know if the 30% HP coupon is still working but this spec will cost you $965 + tax. CC and staples sell them for $1200 but can be had cheaper with rebates

AMD TL-60 2.0 dual core
2GB
250GB 5400 SATA
Fingerprint reader
Camera
Microphone
12.1" Tablet Touchscreen
Wireless a/b/g/n
Bluetooth
LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support
6 cell battery

Although I do agree that the HP deal (with the 30% off coupon) is much better bang, the HP has a 2.2ghz Core 2, as opposed to the AMD CPU on the IBM.

Though, the 30% HP deal should still be working, and aside from long "build dates" it's pretty amazing prices.

Not only are we paying for the name, we are paying for 100% reliability, quality, and durability that IBM is known for. IBM ThinkPads have some of the best keyboards in the industry. They are that comfortable. They have roll cage design which help protect the laptop from damage should it fall or have something spilled over. It has a trackpoint device which I personally prefer over the touchpad. Their notebook cases are tough and I do mean tough. Their batteries last longer than the competition. The laptop I am ordering is touted to have at least 3 hours of battery life. Can you compare that to my Dell that lasts only 1 hour and a half? These laptops are generally for the business people and well, I am one of those people. Even though Lenovo bought the IBM PC division, they still produce them with the same philosophy. Even the Tablet X is chosen over the competition (according to major review sites and magazines). HP is garbage when you compare it to IBM's ThinkPads and Tablets, no offense.

I have a thinkpad and the wonderful keyboard, inclusion of trackpoint, ruggedness, and low weight are great boons for those of us who use our laptops on the field as tools.

Seems like some pretty good deals, if my college didn't provide us all with T60's then I probably would have jumped on this. Despite it being pretty ugly, my ThinkPad is wonderful for what it's used for and I cant complain about overall speed because I also have a gaming desktop in my dorm.
