Even though you gain a penny (excluding shipping) after MIR it's still not worth it... Norton turned to utter shit in 2004 and has gone even more downhill since then.

I bought the norton triple pack for a buddy of mine who just got a laptop for christmas. So far he's had nothing but problems with it. Sort of hard to explain exactly, kinda of like weird quirks but the kind that just make the whole experience with the program bad. He just went back to the free AVG for virus protection and has been fine since. A lot less of a resource hog also.

Yep, Norton= The Devil
Except the devil has a much worse reputation and ain't so bad, where as Norton has a mediocre reputation and is hell on earth. You know who's coming out of the ground at the rapture? Norton, that's who.

People may not share my opinion on this, but I would prefer to go without any sort of protection than with norton. At least when you aren't running anything you know how vulnerable you are, norton just gives a false sense of security.

This stuff can't even sell for a penny anymore, hence all the constant rebates on Norton/Symantec products. Damned shame what Symantec has done over the years to the reputation the Norton name one held with us geeks. At one time it was the piece of software to own - Norton Utilities - for system maintenance and general upkeep. Now, not one Symantec product I've seen in the past decade has been worth the cardboard used to make the box or the materials used to create the CD.

Damned shame, truly...
