are tehse the same exact chips as the Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 Model??
how well would they run together with my 2 x 1gb DDR2 800 of Crucial Ballistix (the ones with the yellow/orange heatspreader)

these are the same as the regular ballistix. Both have the same timings and come with micron d9 chips.
The tracers are just handpicked models to give you better performence if u choose to overclock your ram.

Only difference from what I understand is the LEDs on these. I do believe that the Ballistix are all D9 chips as well (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) meaning they should overclock nicely (YMMV)... If you do purchase them, make sure you set your timings in the BIOS to their specs 2.2v @ 4-4-4-12 2T
I bought a set of these to run with my PC8500 set... Just can't beat the price!!!

However, after I see the rebate is limited to 2 per household, I bought them right away.

they're back in stock and same price.
Are you guys sure these are still D9?
I haven't purchased memory in a while cuz I felt no need with having 4 x 1gb of D9 PC8500

Both the normal Ballistix and the Tracers are D9 chips and they overclock like mad. The only difference between the two is the yellow and black heat spreaders, and the LED lights.

They're site has been slow for the last hour or so from what I noticed. But I was able to add the ram in my shopping cart and checkout. It was pretty darn slow though.

I was wondering if most were getting the newer heat spreaders or the older from the most recent batch. I received the older clip based spreaders which tend to have bad contact to the memory chips.
Here is a thread about the issue and a link to the image made by achensherd

I don't need it right now, but I bit anyway. More memory is never a bad thing.

Had to bite since these should play nice with my Crucial Balistix non-tracers. Thx OP

I thought I was the only one who had the heat spreaders angling out like that. Is it necessarily a bad thing or is it normal?

I just received mine and they're the clipped heat spreaders. I'm not particularly worried about them as the contact seems adequite from what I can see (not much, they're already in my case).

I ordered four...
all have the clip on the top, two seem to be well attached to the chips, two are not. I removed the two clips on the topand pushed the spreader into place ont he ones which were not and it seemed to work reasonably well. SO maybe just some clips are slightly to tight. SO if anyone is having heat issues or just wants to play it safe it might be worthwhile checking.

Mine came with the old setup (clip on top). They are making good contact, however.
