Newegg Webmaster,
Can we get a deal on this drive?
Western Digital 750 GB SATA (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136131)
Say $145 ??? Last time when you posted a $5.00 off code it did not work. Looking to pick up two of these.
Thanks!

I got this drive during the last "promo" & you're 100% right, the code didn't work... which begs the question:
What's the point of this thread?? Sometimes it just seems like a big bait & switch gimmick
PS The 750 drive's been working good

I think it has to do with currency exchanges and customs difficulties. They really should do the whole Canada thing though.
II thought I'd ad that the 4400+ is a great fast CPU for most people's uses.

If they went with usps, there would be no issue with customs. and currency? That makes no sense. Simply sell in american dollar and there is no worry about that.
also the canadian dollar is higher... so..

You are mostly right. The processor is a decent deal, however. But the other two "deals" are not really deals at all. I have been watching that memory for months. It's been hovering around that price for a long time. I've seen it to within $5 of what it is now without any promo code required.
You have to pay $299 up front?? Give me a break. That's a $250 card and a $20 game. This is not a hot deal at all. Why would I buy that and screw around with mail in rebates when i can buy this:
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0276270
And then just get Company of Heroes from you or anyone else for $20 with free shipping? I'd MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have the EVGA card linked above at $230 WITHOUT stupid rebates. Also superclocked. Although it's a paltry 20MHz slower of an overclock, EVGA allows aftermarket heatsinks to be installed without voiding the warranty, and offers the stepup program. XFX is good, but EVGA has far more going for it with that card. $250 later I have a better branded card AND my game without having to send in ANY rebates. And for the record, you can easily overclock the EVGA a tad more to the 670 of the XFX without making it break a sweat. I've got my BFG 8800GT 512 overclocked to 700MHz with the fan at 35% (very quiet) and it never breaks 72c at load.
Newegg webmaster, please remove the memory and video card from this post as they are not hot deals at all, or at least the video card. Your competitors have you beat on this one. There are better deals on 2x2GB kits going with your competitors, too. If anyone wants links let me know. I hate to crap this thread, but it was crap to begin with (other than the processor).
If you would even MATCH MicroStore's price on that EVGA 8800GT (stock $219, superclocked $229) my friend and I would buy two of them from you.... Even though it only ties a competitor for a good deal, it would still be way more worthwhile than this thread. I give you a "nice try" for the effort though.

+1... last time that $5 off deal was on, it worked when I applied it, but it only worked for one drive, and I need FOUR. $5 off buying four drives totaling ~$600 isn't a deal. $5 or $10 off per drive would be something to jump on. I can wait. I've already been waiting for 2+ weeks. In another week if they don't pull through, I'll buy elsewhere.

Canadians ought to know the USA is just jealous of them. How? Well, everyone knows Canada leads the world in being "just north of the USA". Heck, they loaned BOTH their tanks to the war on terror for Pete's sake! Without them, the seats in Norad would get cold.

I don't know if this one's been said before, but I suggest a "Shipping Amnesty" weekend or deal (like $5 shipping total for all items). There have been plenty of times when I've looked over things and said, "Wow, what a great deal, I might pick up on that ... wait, $5 shipping for a $4 fan? And again for a controller? Nevermind."
Personally speaking, I've been collecting a short list of things like that for some time, waiting (fruitlessly?) for a deal like that, or perhaps the shipping on just two or three of those items to make it worth the transaction.

I'm actually pretty pissed they raised the MSRP on the E8400. I bought one at $225 and got a discount after that, now it's at $230?
Seriously kind of annoying. I know the whole economic theory behind it from a business point of view, rationing methods, etc.
But considering that a lot of places were selling at $200+S/H, it's kind of disappointing.
Guess Newegg is falling under the effects of inflation on their products more and more these days, becoming less and less competitive...
Sad really, guess ClubIT gets my money, a whole $10 less and I get FedEx instead (not that I've had much problems with UPS, FedEx in my area just seems more efficient).
When it's a large order I'm much more likely to sacrifice saving 20-30 bucks to get the benefit of Newegg's overall service, but when it's a single item they just cant swing it all the time.

Sign up for their preferred account and you get free rush processing on every order when you use your account. That is what I did, although I still get my stuff super fast no matter if I use rush processing or not. But at least I know that I get a blue tube every time i order from them, and you sissys are getting a red one unless you pay $3 ;)

well let me add to this....
The memory I had on a wish list for a few days and was going to buy today (payday)
I was comparing it to my wife (a geek too) VS the Corsair XMS at micro center $59 after rebate.
This was just last nite
"at $79 its only $20 more and I don't want to be bothered with the rebate and its free shipping.'
Today its $89.99 with a $5 off code JUST FOR US....
Did you raise the price $10 and give us a $5 coupon to make it look sweet
does my memory deceive me Newegg?
I REALLY hope im wrong, that would be a little underhanded for such a good shop

I agree, shipping is the reason that I end up not ordering many products. All these small items like fans, cables, thermal compound...not really worth it when the shipping is more than the price of the item. You should look into DHL, it is very fast and I have had absolutely no problems with them. Anytime I get a package from UPS, they just leave it on the front porch, even if it is supposed to be signed for!!
Newegg really needs to look into doing something about the shipping rates. Perhaps spend $xx dollars and get free shipping? Or anything to reduce the cost, especially for small items.
I am currently looking to buy a case and found a few I liked, but then changed my mind because shipping is upwards of $15 dollars! I know that cases are heavy, but why is shipping $15 for some, and free for others? How about spreading the savings around and make shipping ~$6-8 for a case?
And I would have to agree with the other posts, Neweggs "deals" are getting worse and their prices in general aren't near as good as they should be. Like a few have said, MicroCenter has pretty decent prices now, the only drawback is their shipping rates. Luckily, I live close by one and can just go pick the items up instead of paying for shipping. Though, sometimes its still cheaper to pay for MicroCenters shipping and tax than to order the item from Newegg.

Newegg is a business, and I think they have an automated pricing system, so prices will fluctuate. Even though they're our goto retailer, you should always shop around to make sure they have the best price for what you want.
