This card is only fit if you have no onboard video and absolutely need a cheap video card. This card is about 10x worse than most onboard video. 4 years ago I had a 9800 Pro. That card is now a bit on the slow side, so this is like a snail.
I don't mean to threadcrap, but if your board has onboard video, that's probably better than this card.

Yeah, unless you want it as a keepsake it's essentially useless.
It was my card in my first build, along with 512MB of RAM and an Athlon XP 1700. I remember Unreal 2 running on all low 800x600.... somewhat smoothly.... but gun shadows weren't rendered properly and showed up blue or bright green.
$20 is a lot for this card...... :p

You can almost pickup a used 6600 at this price ;)

The best thing is, that the card is new, and comes with warranty.
This is much more reliable than buying an MX440 on ebay in unknown condition.
I have not seen new AGP cards for this price, and most onboard video does not have 3D acceleration.

Depends, you can generally tell by the ebay seller. It's true you can't find much new in the way of AGP cards around this price. Good for ppl with slightly older rigs, although it may make more sense in some cases to just buy a motherboard instead with onboard video. Newer onboard video sometimes has 3-D acceleration. So real old machines, this isn't bad for. But anyone with relatively new components probably can upgrade their motherboard for just a little more.

Nice but on that page it shows: Video Memory Bus | 32-bit
32bit? For a $20 agp card? Ouch.

Interesting. My first build was also an Athlon XP 1700+ (that CPU was awesome, superb overclocker), 512MB of DDR RAM and a Radeon 7500 (much better than the 7000). MOH:AA and BF1942 had no problem running at 1024x768. It was a vast improvement over my previous computer...

Dang. I would have grabbed one if it was pci. I need to recover from a bad bios flash on my X850 pro. Oops.

could you find someone with a crossfire board... might be able to flash to normal that way... I don't know enought though cuz I haven't messed with modding vid cards in a while.

Try this (found from CPU archives):
Beware The Bad Flash
Anytime you flash a BIOS or upgrade a component’s firmware, there is always an element of risk involved. Many motherboards have been rendered useless due to a user incorrectly flashing the BIOS or because a BIOS flash went wrong. Power outages, corrupted files, or incorrect parameters are some reasons a BIOS flash can fail.
Fortunately, inadvertently damaging a video card due to a bad BIOS flash is much more forgiving than doing the same thing with a motherboard. Of course, a problem could still render the card inoperable, but recovering from the problem is relatively easy provided you have the right tools on hand. In general, if a video card stops working because of a bad flash, it won’t display any images on-screen, and you’ll be greeted by dark monitor screen upon rebooting. But if you back up the card’s original BIOS and keep a PCI-based video card handy, you can restore the damaged card to its original state quickly and easily.
First, remove the damaged card from the system, insert the PCI-based video card into a free slot, and connect your monitor. Next, power up the system and enter the BIOS. In the PCI/PnP section of the system BIOS, there should be an option that’s usually labeled Init Display First that will initialize the PCI video card first. Set this option to PCI, save the changes, and power down the system. Now, reinstall the damaged card, and with the PCI card, boot to a floppy and reflash the damaged card with its original BIOS. Problem solved.

Thanks for the advice. I will do just that as soon as I purchase a pci video card.

NP, just make sure it's PCI and not PCI-Express. A total jerk thing to do would be to pick one up from BB, use it to get the x850 working and then return it. Again it would be a total jerk thing to do, but BB are jerks too so if you do I don't think anyone here will hate you for it.

If you ask nicely, someone here (like myself for instance) might be willing to loan you an old PCI card, or maybe even just give you one. ;)
