I have been waiting for these speakers to go on sale and ClubIT has these listed for $169 AR. Shipping kinda hurts being $30 Fedex but this still brings them down to below $200 AR. Definately the cheapest I have seen.

I believe these are suppose to be 505 watts. Did clubit just make a typo or are these some bootleg logitech speakers?

Great price. I find myself almost wanting to buy another one :D
If you don't have these yet, believe me, you're missing out. Best speakers for the money, especially at this price.

I am thinking about buying these. I am going to be gaming over HDMI on a monitor with no speakers. Would these accept Input from an Xbox over RCA audio?

Your better off connecting it directly to your cable box.
If you can't do that for whatever reason then you'll have to see if your TV has audio outputs, as opposed to inputs like most TV's have.

I've had these for about 3 months and I wish they were that cheap. There is definitely a reason why the shipping is so expensive, though. The sub alone weighs 40 lbs. They are 505w, but everybody has them listed as 500w. They can, however go up to 1000w but that will damage your speakers and is also very unnecessary because these are loud as hell.

If you owned these speakers, you'd see that with $30 shipping it's still a killer deal.

I set these up for my friend during the last deal. They're okay for movies but terrible for music, and thats with using both digital inputs PS3/cable box. They definitly don't make the grade for me, for my friend that doesn't know any better they're grrrrreat.

They ran the same deal in December....shipping does hurt though. Wonder why only FedEx?
A friend has the z5450's (wireless rear spkrs) and loves them. I've been looking at these and the Klipsch Pro Media Ultra's, just can't find a price I can afford right now....

Yes. I have an Elite and used to use these speakers (have since upgraded to a real HT system).
These speakers are an absolutely steal for $200 and below--I paid $200 shipped in 2005 and they were worth every penny. Use the HDMI port on the elite for video and the "audio adapter" via optical for audio.

You can wait for another deal. Seems like the Z-5500 deal come up often. I got mine last month at MWAVE for less than $200 OTD after MIR. The s/h was only $18, maybe thats because we are in the same state.
I came from the X-530 too and you'll notice the difference. The Z-5500 is more than enough for a large bedroom. The bass rattles everything in the room but that is not a bad thing I guess. I have my setup for true 5.1 surround, 3 speakers in front and 2 in back with the sub on the right next to my feet/leg.

nice. Where'd you get that desk at? I bought a cheapy $40 (60 off instantly at staples) and its bending in the middle :(. Also dont have room for my printer OR tower, and underneath is hogged up by my tower and powerstrips, as well as the subwoofer for my x-530. I just saw your sub, and i need to make room! I just bought teh z-5500, I can easily resell it locally for the same, or even a bit more than i bought it for since we dont have a bestbuy, walmart, etc locally. x-530 only has a headphone jack type of input, happy to upgrade to the z-5500 and fully utilize my rig.

I bought these speakers about 2.5 years ago and have been enjoying them every minute since. :D They rock as computer speakers and can probably serve small home theater rooms in a pinch until one gets a stand-alone receiver and 5.1 speakers. I bought them for about $220'ish shipped in Summer 2005 from Dell. (It came w/ an el cheapo free printer.)
This current deal at $200 shipped AR is not bad at all. I've seen it for around $180 shipped, but who knows when that kind of deal will next appear.

I heard about the Z-5500 deal at dell sometime close to the end of last year, maybe around Oct-Nov? Getting yours for $220 2yrs ago is a HOT deal.

30 bucks shipping and 19 bucks tax which means $279 before rebates. Minus 60 bucks in rebates so in the end its 220 if the rebates work. For some reason I'm just not feeling it right now even though I want these. Guess I'll have to be patient.

You must live in a state that has ClubIT presence. I didn't have tax tacked onto my order.

Yup, pretty much every major retailer has presence in my state. Then again, we got Fry's which has everything a geek could want: Computers, junkfood, and Playboy.

Dammit, I pulled the pin on this 2 days ago and they had them at 239.99 + MIR's, etc, etc and now they went to 229.99... that's just wrong!!! :D
I'm wondering if I can to cancel my order and re order again if they would credit me the 10 bucks?

Such is life living in CA. My bro lives out there and complains about having to pay tax every time I send him a hot deal from a store like Newegg, etc. that has a presence out there.
One thing that is unfortunate is that the thread starter neglected to mention "+ ship" in the title. I realize he's a n00bie, so hopefully he'll take this as a learning experience. ;)

They had these on Buy.com for $168 in December, but with free shipping. I snagged one then, and I'd say theyre definitely worth it at this price too. The sub is absolutely huge fyi.

Okay??? Where can you get a system of this quality and sound with a kick ass sub, 5 satelites, and a digital control unit with remote that has DTS, Doby Digital, optical + co axial inputs for $200 bucks?
I have 2 of these and recommended them to all my friends. They are all very happy with them. I think these are worth full retail myself. If your expecting AUDIOFILE speakers from these your NutZ!

MacTrue, for $200 AR you'd be hard-pressed* to find anything similar.
Perhaps what Crook was trying to infer was that if you have a certain level of expectation, due to already owning better hi-fi equipment, don't expect stellar sound quality with the Z-5500 (sort of like what you're saying ;))

All he said was they're not very good for music, and he's right, they're not.
FYI, good for music doesn't = audiophile. I'm not sure you could call any pair of speakers under 2 grand audiophile grade speakers.
With that said, if you're listening to 5.1 music, they're OK. I wouldn't recommend these for music, but then again, anyone listening to music through these is probably listening to MP3s, so they're not really concerned about quality.
