Originally I ordered from Amazon few days ago for $119 then got an email about some rescheduled shipping nonsense. So it would take another 2 weeks (wtf amazon never again). But I'm glad that happened cuz I found these. - 1 day shipping for me.

For a 120ohm headphone, the HD555's do pretty well without a headphone amp.

Don't ask just buy.
Tremendous pair of cans. I can't believe the price. Usually around 120-130 at sites.

it's an alright deal, should be at this price all the time.
At this range though, there's a lot of competition though.

Or the Audio-Technica AD700 when it gets back in stock @ $103 at newegg ( especially good for the price, gem probably )

Awesome headphones, no amp needed. Works fine with straight out of my XFI and from my Zune.
Great set of cans and they have a really good surround sound effect in games. I can tell exactly where things are coming from.

The HD515s have, imho, superb bass, I'd imagine the HD555s could only be better.
Wish the same logic could be applied to the Geforce 9 series.

my HD 595's got a busted right speaker. Its all scatchy now. I can attest personally to how comfy these cans are. I seriously wear them for hours on end with no fatige.
Tell me, what are the differences between model numbers?

The HD595 is overall better then the HD555. However, the HD555 has a bit more bass, but not as clear mids Vs. the HD595.
Head-Fi has TONS of great info, check it out sometime.

and the HD555 has better surround sound ability for in games and such vs. the 595 thx to the little wedge piece inside and design of the speakers.
