true, but it can be worth it to avoid shipping and being able to drive the ram for a replacement if there is an issue.

"Thanks" to Corsair and Crucial ($20-$35AR/2GB), I have 10GB of 1GB DIMMs sitting on my kitchen table waiting for systems to put it in.

You should be able to find similar deals on DIMMs on other sites if you don't have a MC around. outpost hasthese kinds of deal better than every other week.

$44.99 and some of the Best Damn Memory ever. Works awesome. Look at the reviews, mostly all 5 stars. Very few RMA's. Thats what I look for. Good quality=less chance of defective one reaching your door. 4GB of the stuff here. $64 and some change with overnight FedEx.

Are the heatsinks the only difference between the 4gb kits?

I've got 2GB, but I'm pretty much at the point where I figure if I'm going to go to 4GB, I need Vista 64. If i'm going to go 64bit, I might as well get 8GB.....the larger ints are bound to eat up a lot of benefit of going 64....besides, ram is so cheap...why not 8GB :D
