reminds me of the E6300 in some ways. great chip, but that darn multiplier is so low... OCing becomes tough...
Intel really needs to offer multiplier unlocked versions like AMD.

Why is the q6700 $580 and the q9450 $360, there both at 2.66Ghz and the q9450 has a high FSB? I'll hold of till the q9450 is available.

Just picked up the Q9450 from buy.com

They are going to be out soon so I hoped on it.

293.99 shipped if you use the revolution card offer... that's hard to beat considering the processor is ear marked at a 319 MSRP.

It will go nice with my 780i

What pad mod? It's already at a 333/1333FSB, so the only pad mods so far would actually drop the speed- if you're thinking 1600, you'll have to wait for the QX9770.

well the only reason AMD is even doing this is to try to catch up with Intel:D

Perfect quote!

Even the Q9550 will have a theshold. The 780i board has a limit on the FSB for a Quad Core at 466FSB. I would just buy the Q6700. $340 at Clubit, and will be $265 in another month. The 10X multi will help you achieve the Higher Overclock!

End of story...
