Monoprice.com: SATA II Cables $1.70 or lower + Reasonable Shipping

Monoprice.com has new Serial ATA or SATA II cables in that will pull the full 3.0 GB/s bandwidth.

I was trying to find some UV Green ones that didn't cost $3.99 a piece shipped and so I asked one of the guys at Monoprice if they would stock some different colors and it took a few weeks but they've got them now.

The brand is OKGear. They will come in a bag with retail tags from OKGear. I've already ordered 6 of the UV Blue ones and now 6 UV Green ones.

Like most things on Monoprice, the price above only affects if you buy 1. The more you buy, the cheaper the price. So grab some friends who need them as well and buy together for a cheaper price per cable. The cost for 6 Cables and First Class Mail shipping is $12.09 which isn't bad considering you would be paying $3.99 per cable shipped on SVC.com or $4.99 per cable on XPCGear.com. Newegg has a decent price but they'll charge almost $12.00 for shipping them. This was the cheapest I can find.

Anytime. Also, before I get bashed/flamed, I know there is no such thing as a SATA II cable. However, these are great cables for cheap and seem to be the cheapest price in all of the online retailers.

Should be in stock shortly, they are really good about giving accurate ETA times. Hell if you want another color in the 90 degrees, send them an email and ask them. Hell, I did to get UV Green and 3 weeks later, they added UV Green, UV Red, Black, and the other color to their website.

I even remember reading one guide about it but apparently according to almost everyone I've seen talk about this, SATA II is just a marketing hype to get you to buy the newer cables. The older cables are supposed to pull the same speeds but I personally make sure all my cables stat that they are rated for 3.0gbs

seems these are no different that every other 3.0 SATA cables. Or SataI cables for that matter. I thought it was pretty well known, SATA2 / SATAII SATA 3.0 are just marketing, and speed wise there is no difference between them and regular sata.

Bringing the attention back to Monoprice though, the best part is all of their cables have lifetime warranty so if at any point in time one of your cables fail, just call em up and they'll send you a new one. Half of the time, they don't even want the old one back.

I just wish monoprice offered longer lengths than 18" on these cables. I may need a few longer ones to do some fancy footwork on my sleuth cabling.:cool:

I can't help but grin at this :P Of course, monoprice is astonishingly awesome, that's always been a given.

But a lifetime warranty on a $1.70 cable is.... well imo, insignificant.

Well especially for me given that I have a whole horde of sata cables given that everytime I buy a motherboard, or perhaps a DVD / HD, I get another 2-4. And If I didn't have an extra cable if one broke, I probably would not wait for a new one from mono, and just pick one up @ a local store for $5 or so.

But of course, for certain people, this can be kinda handy ;)

Remember them for all your HDMI cabling needs. I did something like 4 nights worth of research trying to find out what I should pay $150 for a freaking Monster HDMI cable. I found out that if you just buy an HDMI 1.3a Category II cable. It's actually better than the Monster cable that costs $150 because it will support the 2 resolutions higher than 1080p. Monoprice had them at the cheapest price on the web.

How do you have your wiring done? I'd say the longer the better because then you can tie off what you're not using but you'll have more slack just in case.

i build a few computers every now and then, and in the process i have built up quite a collection of SATA cables, PATA cables, Firewire/usb cables, Chipset heatsink fans etc.. etc..

I never ralized that these kind of things were actually worth money :eek:

You're not the only one. I've got a box of riboon EIDE cables, ribbon Floppy cables, SATA cables that came with my drives and motherboards, 3 to 4 pin adapters for fans and I just recently received a box full of wires to do make your own molex plugs and splitters. One day, I might get around to using them, probably not though.

Buy ALL your cables there. If you're as luckily unlucky as I am with buying cables I need immediately from BB, CC, Radioshack, they always end up not doing what I want at the same time my monoprice equivalent arrives so I have to return them to the store =(

but =D because my $1-$5 monoprice cable has always been there to save the day!

Depends where your SATA ports are, and where you're mounting the HDDs...

I used 24/36" cables on mine, but I had a RAID card and ran my cables underneath the drives, had a couple inches to spare...

I just picked up a bunch from Jab-tech. I considered Monoprice, but I really like having right angle connectors on both ends. Hell, sometimes i'd like a 240 degree connector. They cost more, but I got what I wanted, and I was already buying a butt load of fans and other stuff. I also wanted more than 18". I think 24" would have been ideal, but they didn't have dual right angles, so I ended up going with 36" I can hide what I don't need behind the MB tray.
