Who knows...but it's a 22" monitor. Also if you have rewards, a 12% off coupon, or any ink coupons you can use those to lower the price as well. Besides, if you don't want it, you could just buy it and sell it.

I've never noticed a 1680x1050 monitor advertised as 1080p before. Does it just crop off 30 rows and 240 columns or would it be downscaled?

I still own and use a 19" Sceptre monitor that I purchased probably 4 years ago and it still works great.

That's a good price for a 22", although the claim of 1080p is probably crap as anything but a native resolution on an LCD looks extremely blurry.

i was thinking of going and getting one of these till i started reading the reveiws . i have 2x19" sceptre both over 2 years old . the newer one just died one me a few days ago . one year warranty is pretty bad on a $300 dollar monitor . i called tech because i beleave it's just a bad inverter board . they want $115 for a new board , rip off if you ask me . i don't do any gameing so untill one died i was very happy with both my sceptre's . now i am off to 19" dells with a 3 year warranty ...

on another note if anyone does buy one . i would not use there supplyed dvi plug . in the reveiws at keep egg alot of people report the cabl is bad from day one , then dvi port goes out altogether . maybe this monitor is getting a bad rep. from a poor dvi cable ...

It can handle 1080p inputs and downscale to 1680 x 1050... it has an HD tuner... Nobody is stupid enough to think you could get a 1080p LCD for $160...

I've had the x22wg for over a year now. It sucks. Stay far, far away. The DVI port died on me just barely outside of warranty. Even with VGA, I still see some strange artifacts on the screen. The stand is hardly adjustable and very flimsy. What hurts more is that I paid over $300 for the piece of junk.

I'm really wishing I would have waited for the 226BW.

Well, a couple coworkers and I picked up one each over lunch. We had to call around, as 2 local stores quoted the same price as the web ($299). Called another local store and they had it for the clearance price, so we had them hold their last 3 for us. I don't know about my coworkers, but this monitor will be used on my spare system, so it doesn't have to be great. It's replacing an old 17" CRT... ;)

Do any of you people read? IN STORE ONLY! The website will NOT show the correct price. Call your local store and see if they have it on clearance for $219. If so you're golden. If not, try another store. The online price is going to read $299 because the deal does not extend to web orders... :rolleyes:

I just picked this monitor up, just an FYI the coupon wasnt seeming to work at the store i went to, after the 3rd or 4th time of entering it and the cashier and manager looking like they were trying to find an excuse why they couldnt take the coupon i started asking questions about the 1 year replacement plan they offered (which i was planning on getting anyways with the reports of DVI issues) the manager just keyed in the manual override and rang up the service plan.

All in all out the door just shy of $200 with an extra year of warranty. I just hooked it up via DVI to my cable box and all i have to say is this monitor will work perfectly for me as a smaller TV in the den.

BTW the monitors are as bad as people say. However the stand is a bit flimzy and its pretty much just mounted on the stand and cant be moved much... The blue logo when the monitor is on is a bit bright and the buttons have no lables so you kinda have to guess.

However at 159 its a steal of a deal...

the stand doesn't bother me. i hate the lcd stands that ar like 500 pounds.

i do have a pixel stuck to blue but its no big deal. ill RMA it in like 11 months :D

lol yeah my 20.1" has a stuck blue pixel up in the upper right

With normal use i never notice it but its about an inch from the top and an in from the right of the monitor... (in the black bars on widescreen movies lol)

anyways overall they are nice monitors! but the buttons and stand leave stuff to be desired...

and dont forget that they dont include a dvi cable with the monitor lol...

I ended up grabbing one from my school since we had about 200 of them laying around... (there all gone now so i cant get any lol)

The problem is that there are 2 models of this monitor, both have the same box with different barcodes. One is discontinued at $219 and the other is $299. You have to make them get the monitor with the item number 21488203. If they have 0 in stock of that item number then they have sold out and all they have is the newer model. The online ad does state "while supplies last" so you will be SOL on a raincheck or subsitition.
