View Full Version : Migrating OS install, help w\ Sysprep

Upgrading from a 1.6p4 dell to 3.0 P4 asus p4c800-e dlx. Anyway the title pretty much says it all.
I have a rough idea of what I need to do. I think you basically assemble the thing put in the old HD and boot with the xp cd in there and do a repair install? Is that basically the jist, anything else i need to look out for?

Risky, worth a shot. There could be a possibilty that the OS wouldn't be very happy that you've changed over to a different motherboard and what not. This is why partitions are a VERY nice thing to have.
