I was at Frys today and saw the SAMSUNG F2380. That was a pretty awesome looking monitor. I loved the colors and view angles of it. It was on sale for $279 Is this a good monitor. I'm lookiing to replace my doublesight and was thinking about this one. I know its PVA which is better than TN. I also noticed it doesn't have that grainy dirty look IPS panels have, which is why I don't like IPS panels. But this Samsung really stood out.

I looked pretty hard at the F2380, from a review standpoint, but did finally by an NEC EA231WMi.

The reviews seem to run hot and cold on the F2380. Apparently the model has an upgrade to F2380"M", which includes speakers, USB ports, and maybe some other minor refinements, all for about the same price as the non-M model.

So, it seems to me that either one of these versions are a good value, especially if you've confirmed that it meets your visual satisfaction.

From what I understand the M version is just going to have more inputs than the older version but the screen itself will be the same. I had the Nec actually I didn't like the coating that is used on new IPS panels. The grainy dirty look is a really turn off for me. That's what I liked about the samsung. The text and icons and whites were nice and smooth no grainy or dirt feeling. Yeah your right some review love it and others hate. Frys has a good return policy I might buy one tomorrow just to check it out, if I don't like it I can always return it. I'm a gamer and from the reviews it says the input lag in very low, but the response time is high. Well I always game with V sync on so for me that wouldn't matter. Well see maybe I'll get it tomorrow...
 
Yeah,

I'm not a gamer, so that wasn't a consideration for me when I was considering the F2380.

But please let us all hear how it goes.
