SAPPHIRE RX 6800 XT $520

Rather wait for the 4070 drop a bit more.
...why?

All the Nvidia goodies like dlss2, DLSS3 frame gen, higher raytracing perf, better drivers, Cuda support, etc. Also nvenc is better than the amd one. That's presumably why. Also better power efficiency.
*shrugs*

I seem to recall AMD goodies too. But if a goodie doesn't come from nVidia it apparently isn't a goodie.

not a bad price, sadly the 4070 performance is likely going to keep the 6800XT over the 500 dollar barrier for a bit longer..

even though I hate the progress of performance / price of rtx 4070 compared to last gen, if 4070 is priced at least $100 lower than current MSRP, then I would take it over 6800xt / 3080 new.

sadly that's what Nvidia (and presumably AMD too) has became now, too greedy they increase the price point from previous gen with little performance improvement.

Yeah...drop $100 off a 4070 and that'd be fine. MC is kicking in $100 steam gift cards with all rtx 4k cards. Throw in 5% off if you use a card. If I still had my 1080ti, I could see going with the 4070 in that case. I personally think 12gb will still work fine for 12gb in 2 years. If not, I'll eat those words.
