OK 55% if you want to get technical but still, that's small when you compare the two! It's a beautiful screen. Once you go 2560x1600 there is NO going back!

What are earth are you running on dual 8800 GTXs that slows down at 1600x1200??? I am playing everything at 2560x1600 with full details and have no such slow downs on my setup.
