I believe the difference is that S-IPS panels use a different AG coating than the PVA panel on the samsung. I used to own a Dell 2407WFP and the grainy coating would drive me nuts when I was writing papers for school. I had a Samsung 305t for a few weeks about 2 years ago and there was no...
Just another update that I thought I would add to this thread.
I have noticed that there is a person on eBay now selling his services to "fix" your 305t for you. From what I understand his services involve putting a heatsink (or two) on the power board of the monitor. It seems to me that all...
The physical monitor dimensions. Another downside to bumping the resolution so high on the new iMac's without really increasing the screen space is that tiny dot pitch on the monitor. At first I thought I really liked how tight and accurate it looked, but it can start to wear on you through...
Thank you very much for pointing this out. My wife has the new 27" iMac and whenever I use it I always thought I was going a little crazy since it didnt seem that much bigger than my 24" Samsung 245bw. I was contemplating getting the new Dell 27" when it came out but now that I see the...

The street value is also irrelevant, an old Lexus will still be a more comfortable car than a new Honda Civic...
He is talking about the actual coating that the manufacturer puts on its monitors to stop glare. That coating gives the screen a "dirty" or "sparkly" look with white backgrounds.
The new iMac screen's do not have this problem. The glossy screen might not be for everyone, but if you can handle...
Just thought I would bump this thread with some input.
My wife just got this new monitor/computer for Law School and I have to say it just gorgeous.
I have been trying to figure out what 30" monitor I wanted to buy for a long time and I think I might just have to grab one of these 27"...
The ultra-low power draw on these monitors would make them an ideal candidate for an extra "sidebar" monitor. With LED backlighting I wont feel guilty leaving a monitor on just to display my torrent progress...
Any chance of getting the BIOS for the RS480 ECS mobo that dosnt kill the onboard video?
I want to try to OC my parents comp a little but I really do not want to have to buy a seperate PCI-E card for it.
Any help would be great.
