I'm working as a system administrator for a company that resells and integrate Fujifilm Synapse. I frequently help the workstation guys when they are all busy with the barco screens and diagnostics console.
I'm curious, how come you have so many SGI gear ? You used to use that in radiology or...
A nice thing to know would be if you would like to have this speed for read or writes. Big difference.
The other question is, why do you need this kind of performance ? It may not be worth it for some applications.
I guess you mean NTBackup doesn't support it. Using software like Backup Exec works fine, of course it's not free and without hassle, but in my opinion, it's not a bad solution when you have some experience with tape backup hardware and software.
I guess I've been lucky with it.
I worked with 11, 12, 12.5 and 2010 and while I had some trouble at once my experience has been positive.
I must say that I've had some serious issues with Networker thought that never has been solved by EMC. I couldn't manage to have the Sun SL24 library...
I can't answer your question, but I'd like to comment the fact that if you are currently on Office 2003, you might as well upgrade to 2010 so you don't have to migrate again in 2 years to save some big bucks.
I must say that I wired my house last summer in CAT6 and regreted it since cat5e can still work with 10GBaseT up to a certain length. Why waste cash, it's really more expensive and not worth it.
Anyway in the end you are the one that will live with your install but I still think I could mention...
You are absolutely right, however I don't think the OP would benefit this kind of cable :)
I made the mistake of buying 1000ft of Cat6 to wire my house. I felt like a dumbass when I realized that 10G Base T would work with Cat 5e in most environments (even if there is no way I could afford a...
Hi Spyder,
Are you getting pricing directly from the manufacturer in HP case or you are involved with a VAR?
With some brands, discounts can be noticeable from list price.
I am working for a VAR focusing mainly on Sun Microsystems and I can say that their pricing are quite competitive...
Did you know that even 10g ethernet can run on Cat5e cable for short distances ?
I just wired my house in cat 6 and when I was told that Cat5e can do 10g I wouldn't have paid twice as much for cat6.
I bought it from a local distributor in Montreal but if I couldn't get it from cablek, I would...
Thank you for pointing it out, I wasn't a 100% sure since new firmware in Sun Microsystem SANs give the opportunity to 2TB + LUNs.
Can you boot from a GPT partition ?
