I'm building a HTPC system based around an ASRock Z97E-itx/AC with an i5-4690K CPU. I'm looking at 16 GB of RAM to run some VMs in the background, and will be using the iGPU as well.
I've pretty much narrowed my selection down to two kits,
G.SKILL RipjawsX F3-2133C11D-16GXL 16GB 2X8GB...
Cutting it fairly fine to the wire as Sugarsync free accounts are being terminated in a week, but I'm still hunting for a replacement that's not lacking in 2 features...
1) The ability to sync arbitrary folders on my computer
2) The ability to upload photos from an android device...
Unfortunately, both the BenQ and the HP are a bit above my price range.
I'm mostly playing older games these days, so my GTX 580 should be OK to drive 1440p for stuff like Metro 2033 and Civ V based on the reviews on [H]
If I feel the need for more horsepower, I could always add a second GTX...
I'm close to pulling the trigger on the QNIX QX2710 matte version, just waiting on a response from green-sum about his perfect pixel policy.
NCX's review makes it sound like a good budget alternative to the much more expensive Samsung, Viewsonic, BenQ, etc 27" monitors, though I'm more...
Can anyone confirm whether the brightness adjustment on the monitor actually adjusts backlight level, or if it just adjusts the digital white level as tftcentral found when they reviewed the Achieva Shimian?
I realize that this question has been asked before, but with the wealth of information out there, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed.
My existing LG 246WP-BN is nearing death, and I'm shopping around for a replacement with the following characteristics:
1920x1200 or higher resolution
24" or...
Just posting to say thanks for the info about how to replace the bad capacitors. My L246WP died a slow and painful death where it took longer and longer for it to turn on, while the power LED flashed on and off. I replaced the two 10v 3300uF capacitors with a pair of 16v 3300uF capacitors, and...
As the title says, I'm looking for some advice on a keyboard to replace the cheapo Logitech media keyboard I'm using (an MX230 IIRC, but I could be extremely wrong on that). I find it to be soft and lacking in feedback. I have good memories of the older keytronics membrane keyboards, and I also...
So my old microphone solution (a cheapass logitech behind the head headset) has bit the dust, and I'm looking for a replacement...
But not simply a direct replacement.
I've got a decent? set of 5.1 speakers for my desktop, so I'd be OK with just a microphone to replace, I've seen people...
Lots it would seem...
I've created a google spreadsheet of their feature lists because the ASUS website's comparison tool isn't working right now.
