I ordered my STRIX GTX 980 Ti from Amazon about 2 weeks ago and it arrived last Friday. As I understand it, there was an issue with the cooler on the first production run and it took them a little while to get it fixed. Kitguru and Guru3d both reviewed the card a couple of months ago and...
YES, you should do it! As long as you know they're working properly, that's a great price on a great set of headphones. And an amp will come in handy depending on your source.
The short answer is no, there is no work around. I think it sucks, too. Creative claims that it was an intentional design decision and that the card was "built this way to achieve better audio quality". See messages #42 and #49 from a Creative rep in this thread...
Is your RAM set to Auto or XMP? Disabling C3/C6 worked for me, too, but other people weren't having the problem with C3/C6 enabled so I kept looking. Eventually, I found that my RAM was set to Auto. As soon as I set it to XMP, the problem never occured again (and that's with C3/C6 *enabled*).
For what it's worth, Crucial released the 0007 firmware update for these drives yesterday which is supposed to fix the stutter/freeze/hang issues that some people have experienced. My drive came with 0006 and I haven't had any problems but there do seem be plenty of people who have. More here...
That's what I paid for it. :-( And the sad thing is that it would actually be cheaper to buy another one than to pay for shipping/duty to and from the UK to get this one replaced under warranty. But that's the chance I took by buying the mouse so I guess I can't really blame anyone but...
Yeah, that's what I have. The Kone[+]. Check the YouTube link I referenced. I know the original Kone had a scroll wheel problem which was supposedly improved in the Kone v2. I never read anything about the newer Kone[+] having any problems, though. I had hoped it was a firmware issue but...
I bought this mouse about three months ago. Unfortunately, the scroll wheel has developed a problem (see here for more info). I contacted ROCCAT tech support via e-mail and was told that it's a hardware defect and I should contact the reseller (Medusa USA). So I contacted them and they told...
I was having these problems as well (i.e., hanging when idle but stable under load) until I switched my RAM from Auto -> XMP. Since then, everything has been 100% stable. See here.
That was one of the symptoms I was experiencing, too. Any USB device connected to the system seemed to lose power. My original P8P67 Deluxe did it. Then I exchanged that for the new B3 rev board and it did it, too. My system was 100% stable under load and this problem only occurred when the...
That is almost identical to the system that I just built (except that I'm using the Antec HCP 1200 PSU and the Corsair Vengeance that Spooony referenced). I also bought a Dell U3011 earlier this year and I love it. Re: video, I opted for 2x EVGA 580 SC in SLI because I tend to game with max...
Yes, it is a HUGE pain in the ass. And unfortunately, it's not going to change. According to Creative, the inability to switch via software or automatically when headphones are connected/disconnected was an intentional design decision in order to provide "better audio quality". Here's the...
I almost hesitate to post this but since switching my RAM from Auto -> XMP and re-enabling C3/C6, my system has been sitting idle without locking up for ~15 hours now! I'm very cautiously optimistic.....
