Update on this thread: i reinstalled sucessufully the XP, disabling the ACPI and APM pressing F7 instaed of F6 in the begining of the XP installation, however the power of the computer now, behaves like the old AT power: to power off the computer I must be pressing always for at least 4...

It seems - it´s the conclusion i´m getting- that all this Mboard problems come from the ACPI power. The problem is that I can´t disable it in the Bios, putting APM instaed of ACPI. I´ll try to reinstall XP and disable it from there, pressing F7 when prompted to press F6.

A suggestion: why don´t you go for an external USB DVD burner, they are cheap and slim these days, and you could burn directly DVD to DVD, using the reader and the burner.

Ok, thanks both you you, for the tips, I´ll try to do that. However an adittional problem apperaed now: the rtc battery is low ( message of this is on the post screen), I´ll have to search for an Toshiba 110cs Rtc one, if not , all the work can be smashed because of this Rtc battery problem.
