Since posting this, I've installed a PCI Gigabit NIC into my Ubuntu Server machine.

Settings for eth1:

Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full

I'm running Windows XP Professional on my desktop machine. It's connected at 1Gbps. I've got 7' Cat 5e run from it to the switch...
Copy the file from your floppy disk to the desktop of the Windows 98 machine and then attempt to deflate/decompress it. It looks as though it's trying to decompress that file on the floppy disk itself and there's not enough room.
I logged on here to try and figure out why Vista's networking sucks so much. I'm currently uploading at 280KB/s on a Gigabit network.
I have an AMD 64 X2 4200+, 2GB PC3200, Asus A8N-E (connected at 1Gigabit according to Vista's network Status information), dual SATA-300 160GB HDDs...
I have this older eMachine that someone dumped on me because they couldn't get it to work. It's a T2460. It's not a -bad- machine really...
Anyway, it powers up.. doesn't BEEP/POST and has no video output. I've tried reseating the RAM, resetting the CMOS and checking jumpers and I can't find...
Ahhh... hmm.
Well, it is working now. :)
In my opinion, I think the IDE controller was screwed and somehow the CMOS reset allowed it to work again.
It was weird that it'd format.. partition... copy over the base system and then not boot. Heck, using the Ultimate Boot CD it didn't even...
