My old PC doesn't boot anymore, screen remains black

I will try that, although it didn't boot with SATA devices removed. It seems to boot if I remove the GPU, although I confirmed the GPU isn't faulty.

My old PC doesn't boot anymore, screen remains black

No, they booted a live Debian on a USB stick or a live CD. With mine. I don't know. The 16x one. I tried both the 4x one and the 16x one. No they didn't have to.

My old PC doesn't boot anymore, screen remains black

Hello, My old PC stopped booting one day without explanation. Its fans keep spinning, the hard drive and DVD drive are powered but not the keyboard and mouse (their LEDs are off), and the screen remains black (no signal). The motherboard's phase LEDs, which according the manual indicate the CPU...

Micro stutters and audio glitches / DPC latency issue?

Hi I have frequent micro-stutters where the video freezes and the music "buzzes" for a few milliseconds. I've found a video of the same problem here. In my case it happens when my Internet connection is heavily used in the background. I'm on Windows 10 64-bit using an onboard Realtek ALC889...

Hissing noise in audio signal: electrical isolation issue?

Thanks, but I'd like to solve this problem and buying a soundcard is a workaround, not a solution.

Hissing noise in audio signal: electrical isolation issue?

Yes, I've muted everything that I don't use. Though as I said, muting the master volume doesn't solve the problem.

Hissing noise in audio signal: electrical isolation issue?

Hi, I have a problem with my setup: there is an audible hissing noise in the audio signal. I know this sounds like an audio issue, but it's probably the symptom of a more general hardware / electrical issue. Please don't close this thread. My setup is the following: Motherboard...

Graphics are slow on Windows 7 (HD Grpahics 2000)

I do have hardware acceleration since Firefox is reporting that it is hardware accelerated and using Direct3D 10. Also, I've installed Intel's graphics drivers (100% sure of that) but not any "media accelerator"; what is it? The downloads on your link are only accessible to "premium" members. I...

Graphics are slow on Windows 7 (HD Grpahics 2000)

Thanks. I couldn't find the Speedstep setting but I increased the graphics memory and it improved the performance to some extent. However, scrolling is still sluggish in Firefox whether I enable or disable hardware acceleration. I guess it's a Firefox problem now. Is it on topic here?

Graphics are slow on Windows 7 (HD Grpahics 2000)

Hello, I'm putting this thread in the "Operating systems" category because I think my problem is software-related. I have an Intel Core i3 2100T processor and I'm using the processor's graphics "chip" (HD Graphics 2000) on Windows 7, but drawing windows, scrolling and the various window...

It's probably a debris stuck inside the screen. Hit your desk very hard and it may go. At least that worked for me.

The HP ZR24w Scaling Issues Thread

Yes, the scaling will be OK if your graphics drivers do the scaling. This means that a 1900x1200 signal will be sent to the monitor but with black bars. You will have to enable 1:1 scaling in your drivers' parameters.
