B/c you don't have to reboot. Just set the multiplier from the desktop ;) CPU examples: * Usage: I'm changing clock as needed depending if I'm coding (idle) or building kernels (high) * Settings: I keep an eye on the Processor features. Turbo is for instance disabled when Processor is...

I wonder if you go with the W3690-70 processors (those with unlocked ratios), you can modify multiplier values of register MSR_TURBO_RATIO_LIMIT and overclock cores without the help of the BIOS. Linux provides the msr.ko module to read/write such register.

If you run Linux, I would suggest you to try CoreFreq to check your DDR geometry and latencies for X58 QPI. Stress features also included to reach the highest turbo ratio per Core Disable NMI Watchdog; insmod the Kernel driver with Experimental=1 Start daemon in one term and cli in another.

Great ! Can't wait too see your results. Btw, in GitHub or in Live CD, the corefreq_online_update command will fetch the last stressing functions. Go to the Tools sub menu. Enjoy

With my venerable X58 setup I have programmed a processor monitoring software which shows Turbo Cores frequency , IPC, Pkg & C-States, Temps, SNB Voltages.... in RT. For example cpuid capabilities, Uncore, QPI, DDR cas & geometry... CoreFreq is open source into the GitHub...

Hey ! added the H50 to the V351 --> http://ccy.free.fr/ Used 4 x holed plastic strips to desaxe its fan. Btw, old NF-P12 fan is installed beside it , and no issue closing the side door. Minus 10°C during OCCT load @ full 1600 rpm ( noisy ) ; Much lower temp during video encoding using...

    Corsair H50 + LIAN LI PC-V351 question

I also change for a Noctua 8 cm fan at back. It turns @ 1500 rpm but does help cooling down case Go for a 120 mm if U decide to mod Btw U should find in another V351 thread, same forum, some mods where PSU and HDD fan have been swapped, allowing 120 mm fan and better air dissipation. I not a...
