Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

The only thing I did not put in in the equation is that our maximum resolution is running up. So the 1.5, 2.0 GPU speed increase factor not only has to keep up with more GPU intensive games but with higher resolutions as well. A couple of years ago 1280x1024 was perceived as a high gaming-res...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Yes I do; I am Dutch :D. Isn't this due to the limitation of current TDMS transmitters? Wouldn't nVidia update SLI resolutions to support 2560x1600 in the next generation NV48, which likely will support dual-link DVI? What else would SLI NV48 suit for? To play 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 at 150fps...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Well you really must be loaded with cash to spend so much money for a Quadro just to get rid of a couple of occasionally visible red pixels. I haven't got my V9999GE yet but from what I have read so far both the Quadro and V9999GE are to slow to play games like Doom-3 on the native resolution of...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

TITANLee; if you lower the refresh rate of the V9999GE till 55hz, this would ease the TDMS, is this problem solved then? Have you tried the PCI-E DVI dual-link 6800 MSI card? This is a full dual-link card but without the pricetag of the Quadro 3400.

Dell 2405FPW 24" inch on the way?????

mumstead, after all the nonreply's on my emails to Samsung, the forum members reporting ghosting on the 243T while gaming, I just opted to add another $1000 to the budget and get the "Mother of all TFT monitors" the Apple 30" HD Cinema Display. Which did decrease in price unlike the Samsung...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

take in consideration that 2560x1600 is almost 4 times the squire size (and thereby requested graphical-processing power) of the currently very popular resolution (17" + 19" TFT screens) of 1280x1024. Even a 6800 ULTA LE or a 850 XT PE won't reach adequate fps with the lateste games under...

O.k. I will send the AOpen back to the shop and trade it in for a Asus V9999GE. Just a pity it has a >10day backorder delivery status.

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Well my 30ACD arrived at my work on friday and the AOpen 6800GT today by post. Installed everything but the card + 30 ACD won't work at anything else but 1280 x 800 (half the native resolution) All other resolution options weren't available. Adding them with powerstrip didn't help either; the...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Does it somewhere show the 2560x1600 resolution? You could go to display settings and set resolution to 2560x1600. If it the card handles it it sends the signal to the monitor which will black out for a 15 seconds and then Windows will return to it's old resolution.

Dell 2405FPW 24" inch on the way?????

Pay a $1000 more and you got the 30" ACD. Just walk in a Apple store nearby and see the 30" ACD next to a 23" ACD and you know which one you want to have; the 23" or 24" looks like a toy compared to the 30"!

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Sure? The other Asus V9999 cards claim the same spec's and use the same boardlayout as the V9999GE. Aopen claims a 2048x1536@85hz for their 6800GT card. This seems to be caused by a Silicon Image TMDS Transmitter which put a higher then 165mhz bandwith on a singlelink DVI Output. The V9999GE...

Apple 30" Cinema display on PC

Maybe because Apple has a proffessional market for it; the graphical designers. Only resently, due to price-cuts, the high-end (too much money)-Geek nich is buying this monitor. Probably beyond the knowedge of Apple marketing, they are still marketing the product as a proprietary G5-monitor...

Dell 2405FPW 24" inch on the way?????

The 243T has a 25ms responsetime. You must be getting ghosting when gaming on this PVA screen; that's the whole reason Samsung readies his 16ms PVA 24" screens; the current 243T has a slow response time for gaming.

    Dual 19inch LCDs or 1 23inch LCD?

If 2200 is your budget you can, at ebay, almost get 2 23" HP's (do +/- $1200 each) for your money. But you could aswell buy 1 23" for $1500 plus 1 Dell 20" of $500; a big one for coding and a small one to see the results.
