I was just browsing newegg's processor selection, and they have several opteron's listed as socket 939 processors. Is this correct? if so, will these run in a standard 939 board, such as the Abit KN8-SLI?
yeah, you should be able to do windows remote, vnc, or anything else you can think of over VPN because it's tunneled, so you shouldn't have to worry about NAT.
unfortunately, most 6600's don't come with a connector on the card. if this is the case, you will need either an adapter or a new psu, depending on what route you choose. if you do use the adapter, though, make sure your psu can actually handle the load, i.e. don't hook up a powmax anything or...

DO NOT by any means plug the 4-pin P4 connector into those last 4 holes! IT WILL FRY YOUR BOARD! if your video card has an additional power connector, you may be able to get away with plugging in the 20 pin and then using the suplemental connector on the card, since those last 4 pins provide...
I've never used SUSE, but i know debian will let you install gui from the cd without touching command line. Also, if you're going to run a linux distro, you might want to learn some command line anyway.
