    2500k - Can't get to 4.5Ghz - Plz Help!

    But I have a GigaByte board, not an Asus..... Seems like the ratio's change when they are suppose too, so is setting this to disabled a delayed change vs instantaneous with Real time enabled?

    2500k - Can't get to 4.5Ghz - Plz Help!

    Something in those settings WORKED!!... Not exactly sure WHAT it was... but it worked.... I'm now sporting 4.5Ghz.... 1.31v according to the Touch Bios 27c idle 1.34v during Prime95 and 57c Wonder what setting actually pushed me over ....... Whatever it is.. I'm happy, and can now try for...

    2500k - Can't get to 4.5Ghz - Plz Help!

    My problem............ I can't get to 4.5Ghz, the Bios Freezes. I've tried up to 1.355v... haven't gone any further.... Reason I haven't pushed much further is, I can do 4.4Ghz on 1.26v with Load Line @ level 5, so 1.3v... hell.. 1.355v should be PLENTY!! Parts. 2500k Gigabyte...

    GTX260 216 -> GTX560 Ti or 6950?

    Excellent, the MSI 560GTX Ti is what I'll order. Now to figure out the best place to order (most likely Newegg). Galaxy is a great card as well, however Tigerdirect (aka CompUSA) has stores in my state, so I gotta pay taxes. Hard to believe I've been following this forum for almost 5 years, and...

    GTX260 216 -> GTX560 Ti or 6950?

    Thanks for your response. I've been going back n forth on this decision now for a few weeks. I love the fact that a 6950 will unlock to a 6970, but that's a reference designed card only. Plus I would probably need a new Power Supply. So my alternative is the MSI 560 Ti - should provide similar...

    GTX260 216 -> GTX560 Ti or 6950?

    All, Looking to prolong the life a little longer with my Q6600 @ 3.3Ghz (when OC'd). With the problems with Motherboards on the 1155 platform, I've decided to hold off until the end of the year. Even some B3 rev MB's are having issues even with the fixes. A little background to...

    Q6600 to i7-860 - Worth the $600, or better spent elsewhere?

    Wow, looks like this post has been pretty active over the weekend. I'm going to save my $$, and just upgrade to an SSD for the OS Drive only. I figure the 30GB SSD (using Win7 and TRIM) should be sufficient for now. Currently using 12GB for Win7 x64 Ultimate (no pagefile). The Q6600 I have now...

    Doing my homework now... before I splurge on this upgrade! :-)

    Q6600 to i7-860 - Worth the $600, or better spent elsewhere?

    I guess I was looking at very expensive RAM which brought the cost to $600. Looking around on Newegg, there are definitely less expensive kits available. I hadn't realized that the Q6600 still commands a price over $100 when sold on ebay.. some over $140 - Mine is a SLACR G0 with (what I...

    Q6600 to i7-860 - Worth the $600, or better spent elsewhere?

    Yeah, that's a good point.. I guess the 1366 socket would be a better choice... I've been reading tons of threads about 1156 vs 1366. Plus it doesn't look like (now) that the newer processors are going to be supported on the 1156 socket..... I guess for now my Q6600 will do for another year...

    Q6600 to i7-860 - Worth the $600, or better spent elsewhere?

    I figured with my tax return it would be a good time to upgrade, but I'm having a hard time justifying right now... I think I can get another year outta this no problem.... maybe look toward (i9??) next year. Thanks for the response TheQuestian.

    Q6600 to i7-860 - Worth the $600, or better spent elsewhere?

    I currently have a Q6600 G0 stepping that running 2.46Ghz @ 1.15v and just under 3.3Ghz (with C1E) @ 1.26v, running on a Gigabyte P45 MB with 4GB of Ram. My question is, should I upgrade to an i7 for newer technology running Windows 7 (I'm still running XP). The reason it's $600, is because...

    MSI P6N SLI-FI - IDE (PATA) Driver?

    It's called "MediaShield" from the 8.43 drivers direct from Nvidia's site. However there are NO IDE Drivers in this package.... and I have no idea why!! What they include is SATA_IDE, SATARAID, and a RaidTool. No IDE Drivers. I did find a "Remix" set of drivers which to my amazement has an...

    MSI P6N SLI-FI - IDE (PATA) Driver?

    I guess it was a matter of whether there IS a driver for IDE (PATA) on this motherboard. I was going to test it to see what the performance was (if any difference). I haven't been able to find one....
