I honestly think you'll be just gravy. Give the G5 a good listening to and see how it performs over the course of where you bought it's return period :3 If it's going to be utter shite you'll likely see it during that time frame. Let us know what you think of it :3
I can definitely see usb being a fickle biznatch if you have all your usb lanes fully saturated. But if you have the bare essentials: usb mouse/keyboard, one shouldn't have a shite experience with a usb dac in the gaming department. Only so much bandwidth to go around.
if you're using a shit dac maybe lol. I've used the soundblaster X-fi HD usb dac for a good 2 years before it broke in a move when it fought with gravity and lost lol and it was about perfect for all my gaming needs, no noticeable artifacts or slowdowns. and this was on a laptop from early 2011.
Nothing made me more sad than when my own PM 5.1s gave up the ghost :( I was lucky to pick up the absolute last set that was at college's local Best Buy back in 2006. They were transferred to that store originally for another customer who called to hold them. They weren't going to originally...
I can never say enough nice things about how comfortable my Sennheiser HD598s are. Fat head wearing glasses....I forget I'm wearing them. I come home from work, sit down and put them on and do my thing for the next 8 or so hours, most of which I'm not even listening to anything they are that...
I also have the Titanium HD PCIe (since 2010). I just ordered the Philips X2 headphones and a SMSL M3 usb dac/amp.
Currently I've had my PS4 plugged into the toslink in on the X-Fi, from there I RCA to a FIIO E9 headphone amp for my Senn HD598, then from there I RCA from the E9 to my Corsair...
Just picked up two ergotron LX stands for my setup. Such a great thing to be able to literally swing a monitor out of the way completely or set it depending on what I'm doing. Whether it be up close for gaming, up and away for general browsing while using the desk for other things...or...
Hell ya, got my PB278q in. Decided not to give up my 24" PA248q just yet, going to run them side by side for the time being ;)

I've been using my PA248q for over a year and absolutely loved it. Apparently I'm not susceptible to PWM flicker so I lucked out there but gaming on that is pretty damn good in my eyes (subjective lol)
Far Cry 3 is a beauty with the IPS colors :P
Though, today I received the PB278q and my...
Worst tease ever...just got automatic email from UPS that my asus arrived!!! Come on work day, hurry up!
UPDATE: holy crap what a great display. Side by side with my PA248q there is a little color difference with the monitors both set for sRGB mode. Not that bad though hahaha. Immediately...
that and the PB278q was $549.99 with prime on Amazon, they keep running out at that price lol...and the bl2710pt is (currently) $664 with prime.
and it's a shame that the cost is up there as I was eyeing that along with the VP2770..but $549 was the most I was going hahaha
