Well that's disappointing. I just recommended an 800w Everest as an alternative to a Corsair unit because they needed a modular P/S, their budget wouldn't stretch to the 1000w Corsair PS and I wasn't comfortable trying to run their system off the 620w model, AND because FSP has generally made...
Gotta go with everyone else... Appreciate the thought, won't be buying one or recommending it to anyone. Too expensive for a system that doesn't offer a 9600, doesn't have a decent board, has a power supply of unknown quality, a mediocre-at-best CPU heatsink, and which offers one of the worst...
I pretty much stopped buying Asus boards after discovering firsthand the 200MHz+ FSB issue the rev 1.x A7N8Xs had, and Asus' refusal to help me out with it (asked them to swap it for a rev2.x, since the issue was clearly a design flaw, they refused). I've had a P4C800 since then that I had to...
I need to pick up a couple of caching SCSI RAID cards-probably used off eBay or some such-and I've been out of the loop on SCSI stuff since before U320 devices were available, so I really have no clue what to get.
Here's what I need:
32 bit PCI support-doesn't have to be a 32 bit only...
Paul,
What's your opinion of PCP&C units in general? The impression I'm getting based on the reviews I've read here (and a few other sites) is that they're not bad, but they're not necessarily quite living up to their reputation as being the best of the best either.
I've read every power supply review [H] has done (since I feel this is one of the few sites that actually reviews PSUs properly), and I have to say that this is the first power supply that's been reviewed that I actually like.
There have been other good power supplies of course, some with lower...
Wonder if they've fixed the thermal compound/heatsink contact issues yet... Mine (17" Santa Rosa; Jun '07 update...) still gets obscenely hot (85*C+ CPU temps).
I was expecting better output quality than what you guys got. Disappointing. :(
There's one thing that I never see mentioned in power supply reviews that I wish people would note; the location of the fan(s) on the power supply, and how it's mounted in the case can have a significant impact on...
If it was an ergo board and I didn't have all of the other projects I've currently got going vying for funding already, I'd cough up the $1500. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? If its build quality matches its looks, absolutely.
Great, now I have to clean the coffee off my screen and explain to my boss why I just started laughing. Thanks. :p
I've never had to deal with BB's customer service (thankfully, I rarely shop there), but I find it hard to imagine that it could possibly be WORSE than Fry's.
