    32bit windows & RX400 series - it is possible =)

Yeahp, I keep telling myself it wont take too long. =) ... dont worry, if I want to play BF1 bad enough ... Ill be forced to upgrade then =P Keep in mind, like I stated, even tho Ive had this same instll for a decade .. it runs just like a clean install. I would know, since I have 12+ years of...

    32bit windows & RX400 series - it is possible =)

Eventually, I will, like I stated. And you are mistaken the VRAM is all useable since its not entirely exposed to the OS ... anyways. I play BF4, max settings on here and its using around 2.5-3GB VRAM. Also, its not really a big deal having just 3GB useable memory. I have a pagefile sitting on...

    32bit windows & RX400 series - it is possible =)

I used to use a kernel hack that unlocked all PAE addressable physical memory(up to 256GB I believe) ... so yes at one point my task manager would show 8xxx MB of total RAM ... just like all of MS's 32bit server OS's support PAE to the fullest extent. The problem is, MS was so gungho bout...

    32bit windows & RX400 series - it is possible =)

I assure you I'm not. I have years of apps and custom settings in this OS ... by years I mean over a decade, its seen upgrades from XP to Vista to 7, and multiple hardware changes from different processor vendors / motherboards to anything else. I've baby'd this OS throughout the years and it...

    32bit windows & RX400 series - it is possible =)

Recently I purchased a RX 480 ~ when I happened to notice newegg had 1 in stock. Soon after, I discovered AMD didnt have official driver support for 32bit windows so I was bummed, thinking I bought a useless card. Well, luckily, the drivers work for the most part just fine in windows 7 32bit at...

AMD Radeon RX 480 Owners Club

Its not coil whine, coil whine is usually related to scene draws n stuff and Ive heard coil whine on more than a few cards =). The change in pitch / intensity is synchronous to the fan speed changes. Its not a high pitch squeal or whine like coil whine. Its more like a lower pitch...

AMD Radeon RX 480 Owners Club

I saw newegg had some PowerColor RX480 reference cards in stock, picked one up. Overall Im satisfied. I had a GTX780 previously, so this is more of a small upgrade for me, wanted it mostly because of the much better power consumption. That being said, I love the performance =) I have it stable @...

"Set as active partition" "bootmgr" error

Good to hear! LOL, I just more closely read your OP .. again and yeah, it seems like you may have accidently set the OS partition to be the "active one" ? Rather than the 100M one? So, thats probably where your problem lied. Although, I dont know what it has to do w/ your storage drive =P If you...

"Set as active partition" "bootmgr" error

If you download Hirens bootcd .. boot into miniXP. Then go to the hirens program, go to the MBR/partition part of the menu. Select BootICE. In there you can reconstruct your MBR(NT6.0) and PBR per partition(NT6.0). Then there is an option in there to edit BCD. You can scroll to your...

For win32 users - a script that allows actual usage of 4GB+ of RAM....

I have done a little looking into the program you mentioned( as of the OP I didnt, but now have since you made me wonder as well). Turns out that installer utilizes dup2 patch creator for windows binaries. I found the source dup2 patch file that makes the changes. I verified those changes...

For win32 users - a script that allows actual usage of 4GB+ of RAM....

Correct, but manufacturers who write drivers for 64bit .. already have all the working mechanisms in place in their 64bit versions when compiling for 32bit .. to enable correctly functioning w/ 32bit PAE.... It would be MORE WORK for them to strip the PAE ability inhereted from their 64bit...

For win32 users - a script that allows actual usage of 4GB+ of RAM....

You people dont get it do you, Windows ENABLES PAE by default on almost any 32bit install. Because DEP REQUIRES it, and therefore it chooses the PAE enabled kernel. The kernel flag for disabling RAM above 4GB is still set though. This has been the case even since XP. Look, appreciate the work...

For win32 users - a script that allows actual usage of 4GB+ of RAM....

This is the most knowledgable article Ive found, the others that paint PAE w/ a bad story are just people regurjitating the same shit that really know nothing on the matter. Geoff is the only one who actually stated a way to get it to work and Ive indeed replicated his results w/ no issues on...
