Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Still getting poor results :( Only when I go up to 8mb then I get this: ATTO doesn't do any better: Is there something I am missing here?? The one decent benchmark I have seen (at least I think it is decent) is this one: And even that one isn't very good... I have...

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Two WDC WD4000YS drives. I think this is the link: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136068 They are off my mobo's raid controller. The SSDs are off the 9260.

    GA-X38-DQ6 raid 0 fail

Thanks so much - I did what you suggested and I was able to recover everything. I had a sinking feeling I wasn't going to get anything back so it took me awhile to get up the nerve to try the recovery. Your suggestions worked perfectly though and I now have my data and have started using WHS for...

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Just ran HD Tune on my raid0 array using two western digital drives and 128kb stripes. I get an average rate of 114 MB/sec and burst rate of 108.9 MB/sec. It means 4 x25-m drives are giving me around the same performance as two western digital platters??? What a depressing way to go into monday...

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Finally got around to installing it... Seems to be really fast to me (never had an SSD before) but I'm getting some pretty depressing HD Tune 3.5 results. I am using the Win2k8 64bit driver, Win 7 RTM 64bit,4 drives with 1MB stripe size, write back, and I upgraded the latest firmware on the...

    Recommended ESXi/Hyper-V/Windows 2008r2 Build

Hi, I'm looking to build a server capable of hosting 3-5 VMs running database, server products, and some heavy computation. Possibly also want to run a VM for WHS and/or firewall. I'd like the hardware to be compatible with ESXi, Hyper-V, and win 2008r2 so I can choose what I want to run. I'd...

WHS clone SSD alignment raid 0 - help please

Great, thanks. You don't happen to know what windows home server's restore does as far as preserving do you? So it looks like maybe the safest option is to do a fresh windows 7 install, bit the bullet, and just copy all my files manually back and reinstall all my programs?

WHS clone SSD alignment raid 0 - help please

Thanks for the response. I've never owned an SSD before but I think it would be pretty fast like you say. I'm a little concerned about all the work of reinstalling/copying my files back to the computer. I have 141 GB of programs and files on my current machine and some of the installers may be...

WHS clone SSD alignment raid 0 - help please

Hi, I bought an LSI controller card and have 4 intel x-25m g2 drives. Currently I am running Vista on my desktop and I have it backup to WHS. How should I go about upgrading from my standalone hard disk to an ssd raid0 setup? I'm concerned WHS will not preserve alignment, and I'm not sure how...

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Oh well - I pulled the trigger on the LSI already. Reading that review, it looks like each card has strengths/weaknesses. Maybe someday I will switch to the Areca. Thanks for the review - very informative.

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Awesome, thanks. I'll try to PM Computurd to see how it is working out. I'm surprised it looks like it much less than some of the areca cards.

Looking for good raid controller for x-25m raid0

Hi, If I were to have four x-25m 160gb gen 2 drives, would it make sense to put all 4 in raid0 for performance? What is a good raid controller around the $200-$1000 range that would not be a bottleneck to having those in raid0? Some of the things I'm interested are: 1. Ability to do other...

    GA-X38-DQ6 raid 0 fail

Hi, I had a raid0 running with a GA-X38-DQ6 but had blue screens and instability issues. I noticed a bios update that says "added support for Yorkfield". My cpu is a yorkfield, so I decided to update. Unfortunately, I think I didn't uncheck "clear cmos settings" or some option like that...
