    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

That's kind of surprising to hear since this monitor actually has fewer pixels per inch than most alternatives. Windows should allow you to select a custom DPI scaling percentage though, if the standard options aren't suitable. If you really want to go without scaling you might be best off...

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

I couldn't reproduce the flickering when I tried again later, so I told myself maybe it's a rare enough issue that I can just forget about it for now, and RMA later if it becomes a more frequent problem. But I guess if Amazon is not an authorized reseller, that is not an option... Strange that...

Welp. Google maps does it after all. Time for a lovely RMA

    Benq BL3200PT (32" 1440p)

Just got one of these yesterday. Ordered from Amazon, received a unit manufactured in September. Cannot reproduce any flickering on Google Earth or origin.com. No dead pixels, minor banding. Pretty satisfied with this thing, only I came to it from a very fast BenQ G2400W, so I do notice...

    Seemingly SSD-related freezing

Ah sorry. It says iaStorV. This last reboot, I turned off NOD32 right away since I suspected it might somehow be involved. A freeze seemed to begin with Firefox, but other programs were more responsive than normal, and eventually Firefox pulled through. I think this has happened before...

It doesn't say anything about a driver type.

    Seemingly SSD-related freezing

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that just now; the crash still occurred in typical fashion even with the RAID0 drives unplugged. Another potentially useful fact: I don't even have to log in for this to happen. If I restart and then leave my computer at the log-in screen for a long time...

    Seemingly SSD-related freezing

The problem is back after almost a month. There were no full-on freezes in the meantime, but there were some similar-feeling freezes that lasted up to a minute and seemed to be caused by NOD32. I ran memtest for a few hours and it found no errors. I'm currently running Ubuntu off of a USB...

    Seemingly SSD-related freezing

Thanks for the replies. The Intel SSD Toolbox says the firmware is up to date, and the SMART data is all in the clear. Earlier when I tried to run the SSD Optimizer it had an error, but it's working now (at some point I hibernated my computer). The full diagnostic scan says everything's fine...

    Seemingly SSD-related freezing

My computer goes through fits of weird freezing. The cursor will work, but Firefox or whatever program will stop responding, while others still work briefly but soon stop responding as well. I can click on things on the task bar and the bar responds but programs wont open and right-click menus...

Looking into a video card upgrade

I am using Core Temp and didn't realize how much room I had left. I seem to remember some problems with OCing before, which surprised me since it's the G0 stepping Q6600, but it has been so long that I don't remember what they were. Maybe it could have had something to do with RAM voltage etc...

Looking into a video card upgrade

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure just how OC-able my CPU is though. It has a Thermaltake XP-120 on it but even at stock, if I run BOINC full blast it gets well into the upper 60s celsius. Maybe I'll just hold off on any sort of upgrade til I'm ready to do it right.

Looking into a video card upgrade

Guess I'll post here rather than making my own thread. I currently have: Q6600 2.4ghz 4gb DDR2 8800GTS 640mb I game at 1920x1200 and would like to play Skyrim and the new Deus Ex over winter break. For a while, I was thinking about upgrading (maybe 6950) for this occasion. But I've since heard...

    24" Widescreen CRT (FW900) From Ebay arrived,Comments.

I bought one of these a few years ago and used it as my primary monitor for a long time. Eventually, it started having occasional bursts of green, after which the color would be wrong and slowly fade to normal... some problem with the green electron gun I'm assuming. I bought an LCD at that...
