    75 hz + Dell 2005FPW = big difference

I'm glad I'm not the only one who notices a difference with higher refresh rates. I know that the 2405fpw is not capped at 60Hz because I've pushed it up to 61.4Hz at 1920x1200. The limitation seems to be the bandwidth of the DVI connection between the video card and the display. I'm continuing...

    Achieving 1920x1200@66Hz on your 2405fpw

I know 60Hz isn't the limit. I've tweaked the timings on my card with Powerstrip to get up to 1920x1200 @ 61.39Hz. The DVI spec says 165MHz is the max, but Silicon image has a TMDS transceiver chip that works up to 225MHz. Either my card is giving out above 165MHz or the display is (or both)...

    Achieving 1920x1200@66Hz on your 2405fpw

Faster refresh rates look better even going beyond the response time of the panel. If you lower the refresh rate on your 25ms panel down to 40Hz you will notice a difference. Yet at 40Hz the image is being updated once every 25ms, the same as the response time of the panel. In any case 60Hz is...

    Achieving 1920x1200@66Hz on your 2405fpw

Dell lists 66Hz as the maximum refresh rate of the 2405fpw at 1920x1200. I'm running 61.390Hz using a Radeon 9200 and adjusting the timing with Powerstrip so the pixel clock is at 164.963MHz. Anything higher than that and there is no picture. Has anybody gotten the 2405fpw to display 1920x1200...
