Well, I first installed SUSE 10 with the external disc in place. YAST seemed to recognise it, I was able to remove the NTFS partition and put an ext3 in place, install went well ...
until it came time to boot, whereupon it complained bitterly it couldn't fsck the drive. I (foolishly, very...
Hello.
I'm running SUSE 10.0 64bit, and I'd like to point /home to an external USB2 drive (specifically, a Lacie 500GB "bigger disk").
Can anyone give me advice on how to do this, or point me in the direction of a FAQ/resource of some kind? It looks like just popping it in /etc/fstab and...
Hello, imac newbie here :)
I've got a huge problem, and I wonder if anyone here can help me resolve it, point to a solution etc.
I recently put an MS magnifier mouse on my imac, which seemed to work well... with one minor niggle : everytime I logged into my account the imac it would zoom...
Hmm. Well, I installed the nvidia drivers via the online update, and it does indeed appear to have made some difference. I haven't tried glxgears, but the cute little "Blocktube" now displays without flicker, and at about 28fps on both monitors with reflective blocks and at a fairly "slow"...

My set-up is 2xDell FP2001s, each one connected to its own individual GeForce 6800 via DVI. I just set them up as Generic LCDs running 1600x1200 at 75Mhz during SUSE installation.
My /etc/X11/xorg.conf file (partly) looks like this ... don't know if it's any use to the_bob, forex :) :
I...
I've got two GeForce 6800s in SLI, with two Dell monitors. Each one is plugged into its own graphics card, and SuSE 9.3 set up dual-displays with no problems whatsoever, FWIW. So I reckon for dual-monitors SuSE probably works nicely :)
I've got a question of my own, however. I'm not using...
I was amused to see, on the UK Dell website, that --- after raising the price of the 2405 by a staggering percentage (35%, wasn't it?) - Dell now have actually brought the price down!
Yes, that's right! The Dell used to be, what, 869 GBP? Then it SHOT UP to 1177.35 ... but no longer!
No...
