I don't think it's right or wrong, it depends on how good the airflow is on your ramsinks. If there is poor airflow in the PCI area then the ramsinks are not going to perform well and I think that's what ER is referring to. ;)

If there is a delta among the different tests then I don't see a major problem with the meat thermometer :p as long as he is consistent with the readings. What I personally want to see is a general indication of how each set up performs, regardless of temperature accuracy. Delta differences...

Ok... well then, we'd need to see what kind of damage if any would occur. I was hoping for examples. From what I can see the block is by no means "ruined". I think this matter should be kept open until we have more data.

It's also been mentioned a couple of times now... why would the MCW30 get "ruined" by placing it on top of the heatsink? My guess is that it might get somewhat scratched but it could easily be retouched by polishing, but "ruined"? Can someone explain why this would happen? Is there any proof or...
