Amazon Introducing New Kindle In August

I've read that alot on kindleboards and it's typically referred to as 'sunfade'. Good thing is it's, like you said, a defect and the few times I've read about a person with that problem Amazon replaces it no problem. One thing I do love about the Kindle is from all I've read, Amazon has...

    Zune question

I use mine at work all day, plus listen to it in the car at lunch. After about 9+ hours ( including the trip to and from work) I end up with a little under 2/3 battery life at he end of the day. Surprises me how great it is. I don't use it much with the screen on though, it's all random...

I have a few hundred bucks and a desire for a new gadget - what to get?

If you're an avid reader, I can't suggest the Kindle2 enough. I got one with my tax return and love the bloody thing. Amazon has a decent store with decent prices, but you can also got to somewhere like feedbooks.com and download tons of free books as well. And while it's Very easy to read...

Got Dirt2, Whats Another Good Racing Game?

I had a great time playing NFS:Shift once I got my Logitech DFGT, they did a great job with the in-cockpit view. It's simmy enough to make a steering wheel useful and fun, but just arcadey enough to where you won't get smacked upside the head with a huge learning curve like the Race-on series.

Warm? MS SideWinder x6 Keyboard - $40 Shipped from Amazon

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. So far I'm liking the key action (kennard sums it up nicely, kinda lap-toppy but big enough to type comfortably), and Love the backlight. I'm going to try it out on a few games to see how it goes, but so far so good. The only thing I'm not digging though is...

    ATI 5850 or GTX 275?

Actually, I've based my post on the problems I've actually had ( err.. in the case of the screensaver... Have ) The grey-screen probs are just too numerous to discount ( even though i've had none )... hell, they have a hotfix just for that problem. The Big Cursor problem is Way to prevalent...

    ATI 5850 or GTX 275?

Personally, after switching to an ATI card after being green for awhile it seems ATI's driver issues seem to affect more general stuff than Nvidia's. When i first got my 5850, due to a driver bug I couldn't change resolutions ( it would hard lock the system). Ended up being a conflict between...

Going need a new core 2 board now

One of his requirements though was Makes it harder to suggest a board. I was going to suggest my board ( Gigabyte P45-UD3P ) but that one thing threw a monkey wrench into it. I guess the main question here is a good Nvidia s775 board with a good quad-core OC history?

Onboard Realtek ALC888 vs. X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI

I thought OpenAL was still accelerated in Vista/7, and that's what Alchemy does to get 3d sound back for older games, convert DS3D to OpenAL.

Onboard Realtek ALC888 vs. X-Fi XtremeMusic PCI

After using a ALC888 onboard for about a year then going recently to an X-Fi Plat, I can tell you it's worth going to the X-Fi IMHO. Stereo separation and positional sound is much better with the X-fi in games, even in today's world of no directsound3d. Don't upgrade just for FPS, but for...

    Cryostasis $6.49

:) Glad I read all your comments. I just got my old 8800GTS running as a Physx card with my 5850 and was thinking about trying this game out ( as it's one of only a few hardware physx games out nowadays ). Physics are nice, but it's also nice to have a game to play too ;)

    Corsair H50 $60.00 @ Best Buy

Same here. The unit itself is pretty quiet, the only fan you need is to cool the radiator and depending on your temp needs you can get away with lower fan speeds than a totally air-cooled unit. Stock unit/fan though is pretty darn silent. I'm pretty happy with it ( purchased during the BB sale...

    Refurb Driving Force GT 64.99 + 2.95 shipping, Overstock.com

Thanks for the message. I was worried about PC support so I clinged to PC hacks and un-specific info. I googled a few messages about Logitech 'thinking' about PC drivers, so i guess they finally came up with them!! Thanks for the real world info.

    Refurb Driving Force GT 64.99 + 2.95 shipping, Overstock.com

In for one too, thanks OP! Looks like it goes from $99 ( amazon sale) to $149 (bestbuy) new. After looking at wheels the past few days, that's about the cheapest you'll get for a decent quality wheel, so $65 is great for a refurb. As far as PC goes, just from a couple minutes of googling it...

    Win7 Device Stage?

Yeah, if you go to Devices and Printers, right click on your computers icon and go to 'Device Installation Settings' you get the option to do that. Mines already setup to do it automatically and still no Zune HD ( the HD's not even recognized correctly, it shows up as 'unspecified' ). Hopefully...
