Got a sweet deal on a VFD, & need some help

I'm going to dust this thread off. Old school! I have been using this VFD (or the one I think they're talking about the BGmicro VFD) for years, but my update to Windows 7 just killed it's Winamp interactivity. Anybody know how to get in touch with either of the guys who wrote the software for...

Where to buy the rails that the Lubic cases use?

It'd be real expensive, and hard to reconfigure. It would look cool though.

It's aluminum, so it's pretty soft. Get a bimetal blade for your miter saw and it will work great. Don't forget hearing protection.

Where to buy the rails that the Lubic cases use?

What you're looking for is a aluminum extrustion product widely known as 80/20. It is made by 80/20 Inc, and can be found at their ebay store along with the fasteners and accessories for it. I did a lot of work with it this summer, it's great stuff. For panelling, anything 1/4" thick will fit...

The beginnings of a bong/nuclear cooler

All good ideas come in the shower. I had the idea to dilute the pool chemicals before adminstering them to the actual system, say put 10ccs of chemical in 990ccs of water,(see note) which gives a 1% concentration, so I administer 100 times the dose, or 38.4ccs- much more managable. I just need...

The beginnings of a bong/nuclear cooler

Does anyone have any ideas for administering such small quantities of chemicals? Maybe I'll be forced to make up a large batch of it and use as needed... I don't want to use way too much chemicals, either- one drop is way too much for a 3 gallon system, which is being generous. I was thinking...

    Shrinking heat-shrink....

Glue guns are not hot enough. Just use a soldering iron, it's great.

Need to get 7.5volt from a PSU, what is the best way?

Allelectronics part numbers: CAT# PS-440 (Open it up for better cooling and the amperage won't be problem, the router probably doesn't use 1A except in certain conditions) CAT# PS-1012

    Shrinking heat-shrink....

I use the barrel of my soldering iron most of the time. You can actually have the haetshrink touching the barrel without a problem, just make sure you keep it moving, as soon as it shrinks down, move to another area. It takes less than 5 seconds. A candle/lighter works in a pinch. but the ideal...

The beginnings of a bong/nuclear cooler

Softswim has been mentioned many times now, I think that if I don't go the UV route, that I'll do this stuff. Is it available in size smaller than would usually be used for a pool? Also, do I want both A and B, or just either one? C seems to be a 'bather waste' eliminator that I don't need...

The beginnings of a bong/nuclear cooler

I think I'm going to use a watering can dealie for minimal flow restriction. Maybe a homemade water deck if I get ambitious.

UV is looking viable, but expensive. Does anyone know if simply having a high flow rate will discourage bacteria? My pump is 400GPH.

They did this on Mythbusters, it actually worked.
