If you don't like the prices that are being charged for various forms of media, then don't give them your business. When large numbers of people start doing this, the corporations supposedly abusing their right to price the product will give in to the market and lower the prices or will go out...
Saw this deal in the newspaper the other day...picked one up today, might get another tomorrow (if they're open on the 4th? probably not). Awesome deal!
Movies are commonly released in theaters or on DVD on staggered dates according to region for marketing reasons. For example, a movie that is already on DVD in the US may still only be in theaters and be months away from DVD in Europe. Region coding is an annoying mechanism designed to prevent...
Ah...well for your purposes it's not a big deal to have the image on a separate drive. I have an older version of TrueImage so I don't have personal experience with the Secure Zone, but from Acronis' description on their site it sounds like that will accomplish what you want. Is the "hidden"...
You can create animated GIFs in Photoshop CS2 without Imageready; the Animation palette is one of its new features.
Googling for ".mov to .gif" came up with this as the first result, but it's shareware. Not sure of a free way to do it without doing it frame by frame.

For Windows, check out DBAN (be careful) or Active@ KillDisk.
Alright...I haven't installed AIM in a long time (GAIM for me :) ) so I don't have first-hand experience but this thread [broadbandreports.com] says the following:
5.2 - no bundled *ware, but it probably has a security flaw
5.5 - *ware installed automatically
5.9 - *ware optional during...

Gaim is the open-source alternative to AIM. It's compatible with AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, MSN, IRC, and a few other protocols. It supports most of AIM's features...not sure if there's any left that they haven't implemented. There are some extra features too like...
Nice! I especially like the second one, although the fishing pole seems out of place (but that's what Photoshop is for ;) ). The third one is beautiful too, although the cars are distracting...would be even better if taken from the angle of the second photo. Great job with all three!
